Wyll has different voice actor in cut scenes vs over world
So I have only managed to find a total of 2 forum posts of this; one on Reddit and one on the Larian forums.

Why does Wyll have a different voice actor in cut scenes vs when you're using him in the overworld, such as when you click on him, or he does something in combat.

Why is no one talking about this? Its absurdly off putting. Is it literally just because no one likes him that no one has noticed?

It is likely because Wyll was voiced by two different voice actors and they reused some of the voice clips from the original voice actor. Wyll’s character, background and story were completely rewritten during early access.

I never noticed, so.

I've never really noticed either. TBH.

I'll never fathom why people vigorously look for reasons to ♥♥♥♥ their diaper, and always over the most asinine reasons.

Because nobody gives a ♥♥♥♥. Hence the severe lack of discussion post release.

The official word is... Larian never gave an official reason.

Didn't ♥♥♥♥ my diaper, just asked a question. Think you've got some latent issues you might need to work on

yeah I saw this, and they did apparently re-record his lines. Just find it very curious that they didn't do it for the overworld lines, just cutscenes. Its quite immersion breaking for me

Ah well sorry for bringing it to your attention, sorry if it ruins the character for you. Was very obvious to me unfortunately. He's a lot more flamboyant in the cut scenes, but could easily be the male player character in the overworld. Quite distinct IMO

LMAOPMP

You most certainly ♥♥♥♥ your diaper. You ♥♥♥♥ your diaper so bad you went back and ♥♥♥♥ it again when you edited out the original ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of your diaper from your original post.
i reworded it so that people wouldn't get the wrong impression, I'm not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anything and I wondered it it sounded like I did.

It is because nobody cares about Wyll, even Larian doesn't care. He was added to check another DEI checkbox, and he will stay that way forever.

Wish I never read this post. This is going to bug me now

Your lies are getting lazier.

IMDB actually shows Wyll as having two different VAs, incidentally.

It is kind of surprising that they didn't rerecord the combat sounds while they were redoing the cutscenes. Probably just a dopey organizational thing, like those two kinds of dialogue belonging to different teams. This happens in my workplace literally every week.

I miss Lanre Malaolu.

To answer the question, Wyll had a different voice actor in EA. When his plot went through a complete rewrite, they also changed voice actor - I assume - to better fit the new direction of his story.

Additionally, I heard that they lost the technician who was in charge of voice barks/point-and-click lines. So there's a possibility that even if they recorded the lines, they didn't know how to reprogram them back in. The voice barks are still broken to this day. Although they are attempting to patch them.

Interesting. Which ones are actually broken?

To be honest, the new actor of Wyll did a wonderful job with the character. No complaints there. That being said, it makes sense they might have reused some of the already recorded dialogues with the previous voice actor Whatever the case, I have not noticed it.

I like Wyll I dunno what is the hate about. IMO it´s interesting to do a run with Gale and another with Wyll.
