Just finished first playthrough. SPOILERS.

Hello everyone. Simply want to share with somebody several random memorable facts about journey of my self-insert character during first, most sincere and prescious run. SPOILERS.
And sorry for possible mistakes, not my language.

1) Played as male dual-wielding elven bard of sword college, noble origin. Quickly guessed to throw away real armor in favor for mage one, but didn't want to run around naked and used robe. Later bought strange-looking but great-working monk attire with dex bonus and advantage on checks. Wore it to the end, though beneath clothes. Two hand crossbows with full ability bonus, inspiration double-shots and aoe-arrows - felt too good to be true, left me no chance to understand rumors about high difficulty.

2) Never took Astarion in the party - was just too insulted by his way of armed greeting. Choices doesn't have to be best and filled with content as long as they are mine own and lead to good or bad story I deserve) All rogue duties fell to my bard.

3) Up until the final part never used manual long rests because of percieved plot urgency, even complained about it in separate topic) It's OK to rest gameplay-wise, but it just never, never seems appropriate and natural for immersion sake. You are always reminded to hurry, there are always someone lost in cursed woods or threatened by a murderer... So I cleared every location in one local day, afraid to waste time and let someone down, and probably missed A LOT of camp bonding scenes as a result( Only allowed myself some chain rests one after another before final part, when received specific warning. Might be the first RPG, where I spend more real days than in-world ones) Felt short because of it, despite all these hours.

4) Tried to flirt with everyone at the beginning, using bard stereotype as clever cover up for my innate horniness... But up until the finale never had progress with it, because never rested) Ended up with Shadowheart - she confessed her love right after turning point in her faith with aasimar situation, and I just couldn't refuse her, she deserves love. So, basically I exchanged compliments with everyone and was claimed by greedy cleric after a single date, on second or third long day of adventuring together) And even after that we only had kisses - until my series of rests after all quests at the end.

5) Made Gale a master of transmutation, because I love this especially magical magic of polymorphing. Never actually polymorphed anyone somehow, always had better spells at hand, but used the full power of elixirs) They work until long rest - and I don't do that, as we already know)) So all my melee team was constantly under effect of giant strength, everyone with "great weapon master" feat, +10 damage and still high chances to hit with STR bonuses... That's frightening combo for villains.

6) I was maniacally collecting loot and selling it with good prices because of persuasion. So always had money - and spend them on all kinds of valuable consumables instead of hoarding. Scrolls of dimension doors and globe of invulnerability create tactical wonders to the point of feeling unfair.

7) I've never get Minthara in squad - didn't know it was even possible, pushed poor drow mistress into chasm( At the same time I presumed it's possible to spare cute goblins and coexist with them after assasination of leaders - and so I was in shock when they automatically became hostile despite my covert operation. Reloaded most times at this point, thinking I'm doing something wrong. At the end I still spared goblins for sake of principle, run away from them and teleported after blowing up Razglin)

8) I usually accept my RPG choices with all their consequences, but I did revert them a couple times here. First time - when suggested Will to break free (hoping to save his father without Mizora help, but it wasn't possible). Second time - when I killed Gortash before going to prison, logically thinking that I will took his detonator and no one would be able to blow it up. Not the case( In my canon version I've saved everyone from the prison, aside from dead duke, after that resurrected duke with Mizora. Funny thing - I even managed to bring his corpse, but it wasn't needed at all)

9) And yes, despite all my haste - I didn't save one poor kid from harpies near druid's grove( At first encounter they were too strong for me - so I loaded and went adventuring, paying no mind to the fact that quest started. After all, I wasn't resting, and so expected boy to be okay later. He wasn't, this timer isn't affected by rest(

10) Eliminated damn murderer during first encounter at wine degustation, stopped his escape with counterspells of righteous fury. No more sad gore in my BG.

11) At the end I freed Orpheus and he became mind flayer for us. Liazel was told to choose path on her own - she went on to continue rebellion. Karlach was convinced to live in Avernus with Will. I'm adventuring with Shadowheart. Guild is OK. Halsin and Jaheira are OK. Minsk is OK and he is the best.

Did you not lose out on a ton of content if you don’t rest?

In my new playthrough i tend to do s lot of stuff around the first area and then trigger the cutscene by the goblin bridge, maybe 3-5 hrs into the game at that point.

Then i have to do the long rest/Partial rest like 4-6 times just to trigger all cutscenes.

Hopefully you replay it because there is no urgency, Other than maybe nere behind the rocks.

It actually is possible.
You can do it, although it's a bit harder than if you accept her deal.

Huh, interesting) Can't even imagine the way, I thought I've already tried the most logical sequence that should've saved duke when rushed prison even before the night talk with Mizora... But it'll be a pleasure to try and find out, thank you for the hint without spoilers)

Yes, that's my plan also - to replay with abundant rest and let the world wait) New adventurer will look like quite the lazy hedonistic egomaniac...

There are clues indicate where the Duke is and you can also randomly stumble upon him. A small hint would be to look around the steel watcher foundry. Long rest is just crucial to trigger story events, some would be incredibly immersion breaking without it . Especially ones relating to your Dream Guardian.

No, I've found duke, that was not a problem - but he was already dead, had to take a rest and sell Will's soul to Mizora for his resurrection( And here people explain that it was possible to save both... And thank you, but enough hints for now, I'd like to find anything else myself in new try))
