Disable nvidia in game overlay if you have that going on.

There also is a procedure to properly redo the game files, uninstall by itself doesn't work, there is a procedure detailed on Larian's site to do it so it removes all the orphaned files before a re-install.

Did you report the bug to Larian?

If this is not a new installation, try browsing to the 'C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\LevelCache' folder and delete the contents. A corrupt file there can cause problems when saving or loading. The easiest way to get there would be to copy the following line into the location bar in Explorer and hit Enter: %LocalAppData%\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\LevelCache

There is also instructions to rename a couple of folders that might help fix it as well.

Don't bother; that's what I told him but he refuses to read and likes more to welter in his whining. Waste of time.

Hey I'm not sure this helps but I found an oddity with Windows 11 if you install Steam in a sub directory. Especially if it's installed in the default directory that steam automatically tries to install in, for some Windows 11 has been having errors relating to administrative privileges either not being assigned or not being remembered properly since the latest Windows update.

It can be a bit of a chore especially if you have limited disc space to work with, but I recommend moving Steam the top of your C:\ drive.

i don't use any mods

This statement makes you a good, honest person.
i'm just waiting until they stop updating the game, so i can mod the game without the fear of some update breaking the entire save, making me start from 0 all over again haha

thank you so much man, you saved me :praisesun: after deleting everything, and renaming the folder, i started the game, then i selected Honour Mode, it stopped at 33%, it froze for a few milisseconds (i was moving the cursor to make sure) and it loaded straight up, it sent me to the cutscene, then the character creation, thanks everyone for the help, i appreciate it :BL3Thumbsup: :fhappy:
It needs to be said that you could've had this 4 hours earlier, dimwit.
