Resist run?
Is it possible to resist the tadpole for the entire game?

You're not forced to use it or evolve it but you maybe need some good checks to resist the emperors attempt to enhance you (at least i remember some skill checks).

Yes you can go without taking the other tadpoles. And if you do not take the tadpoles, when the emperor offers you the Astral Tadpole you don't have to roll to resist.

You only have to roll to resist the Astral one if you do consume other tadpoles.

Besides the first one in your head which you get in the opening cinematic, you never have to use another tadpole. It means you get no Tier 1 or Tier 2 powers, but yes, of course, you can simply ignore the Guardian/Emperor urging you to use them, and never do it....

When you are offered the Astral Tadpole, the final "special" one to be offered, to unlock Tier 2 powers, there is no check to refuse doing so if you have never used any beforehand. Otherwise, there might be a check to refuse.

BTW, it's entirely possible to keep your Tav pure and add'l tadpole free, AND have companions use the tadpoles instead, to get the illithid powers. Astarion and Gale won't even need to be persuaded to start using them - nor will Minthara.

No checks if you have not consumed tadpoles/ used the power a lot.

Yes. These days I only put an extra tadpole on minthara and that's it. Most of my characters are super suspicious of these 'gifts'

A small handful of the tadpole powers are quite good, but other than that you can just avoid them, call them ghaik devilry and never become an illithid, yes.

This!!!!!! My first playthrough I consumed none and had no checks to be like "nah", when my next one needed an *insane* skillcheck to say no I was losing my mind lolol

Save up those inspirations! I had 3 and luckily got a natural 20 on the last one. I almost cried like a baby boi, with relief.
