Is it better to craft adamantine weapons or armor
You can only make two pieces

I used it to make a shield and medium armor for Shadowheart. I think it honestly just boils down to preference.

https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Adamantine_Forge Pretty sure it's build dependant? Give more info, like your team comp and one of the forum's build gurus will be able to help you.

E; Sentence came out wrong.

Shields will find use all game, the armor won't be replaced until act 3. Crit immunity is too good.

The shield and armors outclass the weapons significantly.

Armor, for sure. The weapons are probably outclassed even by the time you get them.

I usually make a shield and a medium armor. At least half the characters in the game can make use of a shield, and the medium armor can be worn right to the end of the game, really. There are lots of heavy armor sets that are as good or better than the adamantine.

Also, if a character can wear heavy armor then they can use the helm that the forge guardian drops. So they can get the crit immunity without also needing the armor.

Shield >>>> Medium Armor > Heavy Armor >>>> Mace > Scimitar/Longsword. If you have to get a weapon, I'd get the Mace since bludgeoning weapons are best for breaking walls and doors anyways, so the guaranteed crits will actually be useful occasionally.

I'd say the Scimitar is the best looking option, if you're only interested in looks.

As others have stated, the armors and shield outclass the weapons by a wide margin. It's not even funny, the weapons would need to be +2 at least to hold up against the armors and even then it's a toss up.

In my honour run I crafted two heavy armors for one certainly dishonourable tactic.

The plate and mail armor always.

The weapons are awful.

If you combine the splint armor, heavy armor mastery and the Skinburster from Creche Y'llek then you will pretty much god mode most of the rest of the game

I find armor the best because of crit immunity and reeling. I always craft medium and heavy armor.

You'll find much better weapons but the armor stays relevant pretty much throughout the game.

There's plenty of good (and better) weapons. Shield and armor remain useful through Act 3
Zsrai Feb 24, 2024 @ 9:19am
The shield is much better than the armor because the armor scales negatively with your AC. With the armor, enemies only get Reeling when they hit you. With the shield they get Reeling when they miss you.

The shield is the best.

Depending on your party, also either medium or heavy armor. I usually prefer heavy but that's because I have a paladin (Minthara) and a fighter (Lae'zel) I like to use

Reeling is insane. You will stack -8 attack rolls on most enemies/bosses. And it reduces all dmg taken, which double dips with warding bond.

Splint armor is #1. Other armor is #1 if u cant wear heavy armor.

Shield #1, then whichever of the two armors fits your party best is #2.
