E; No proof of owning the game on this platform and obviously has an agenda for making this thread...
That is nonsense, both Divinity Original Sin:
https://rpgcodex.net/content.php?id=9721
and Divinity original sin 2:
https://rpgcodex.net/content.php?id=10819
won the GOTY of their respective year. Larian games are just on the decline when it comes to actual RPGs and on a incline when it comes to well, people interested in dating sims and other, "adult friendly" and "diverse orientations".
Baldurs gate 3 can be played on mutliple stores and platforms some without forums to talk about them.
The RPGCodex however is mainly a PC player forum, it's only reasonable to celebrate with Larian that they achieved second place in such a prestigious GOTY poll, like the RPGCodex here where most people can celebrate with them.
Do you think I care about rewards in general, let alone a recommendation from someone with a clear agenda?
Do you honestly suspect that Larian is offended by 2nd placing a GOTY year where some of their developers have Account's on the platform?
But I have no Larian Forum account, is there a Problem with me showing Larians achievement here?
It however did not win GOTY on the RPGCodex, Jagged Alliance did.
First, it’s Chaosolous*
Second, you’re a presumptuous little assumer aren’t you?
One website, “prestigious” or otherwise, doesn’t mean anything.
So back to my original point; and?
Hmm but on the codex review: https://rpgcodex.net/content.php?id=10848
Also they may have won GOTY but if you read through the DOS2 thread there is definitely not uncommon sentiment that it was because not much else better had been released.
And in that sense I can only get a sense of deja vu regarding the relationship between yet another new Larian game and the codex lol.
The stats show the opposite. I.e. a large number of random lurkers/new accounts/alts came in to give 5/5 to BG3 at a much much higher rate than 1/5s
That's why the popularity poll shows BG3 in second, but trailing by a much larger margin than the actual GOTY results
That is untrue in general but the second poll, in the second post, did not feature review Bombing and was put up by people like you who can not fathom that players have different tastes than them. BG3 made second place in the GOTY poll but also in a separate popularity Poll where only one game could be selected and no down voting was involved.
