Okay...Before you go, whats that gotto do with BG3?

4 monks + multiclass since I just wanna have some fun.

Leonardo: Evertyhing is dyed blue, main lead, uses a sword, maybe get a katana mod or something. Not too sure about his multiclass.
Raphael: Everything is dyed red. Oh and he would be multiclass in Barbarian, cuz....Raphael. Not to sure what weapons he'd use, maybe double daggers due to Sai not being a thing in the game.
Donatello: Everything is dyed purple, quarterstaff, maybe multiclass in wizard cuz he's the smart guy?
Michelangelo: Everything is dyed green, not too sure what weapons since he uses nunchucks primarily, also not too sure about his multiclass.

So, the idea is 4 monks, multiclass them and do the thing where I invite myself, appearantly you can do that though not too sure how it works.

Yes, but of course what you *really* want for this is for tortles to be a playable race.

Flail for Nunchucks.

Cleric cuz Nunchucks has Nun in it.
Also, he's orange.

The game could definitely use some more Asian style weapons in it. There is one katana you can find in the vanilla game - I think it's supposed to be Yoshimo's from BG2. So yes, you've got awesome monks from Kara-Tur, but .... IMHO, a shadow monk is basically a ninja, maybe for your best mix multi shadow monk with assassin rogue.

However, no nunchuks, no shuriken, no sai, ... hard to equip your ninja. whether it is a turtle or not, in this game ... not even any blowguns with poison darts. No kusarigama, no ninja-tos.

However, I did find a nice equipment pack Mod that had katanas and wazikashi in it, though of course they are coded as longswords and shortswords.

Nexus does have a Samurai class mod at it. Actually, two. One is a standalone class (seems riffed from FF14) but the other is a fighter subclass. Didn't find either of them all that appealing or interesting. There's also no Samurai style armor.

That would fit even more with the David Attenborough narration that I'm going to try out.

Flail could work yeah, but he wouldn't be a Nun, but a Monk XD

Also....my brain sometimes doesn't work proper -.-

IDk about go to, there isn't many options. Very shallow game.

Raph Babarian sounds right due to his personality till you realise he is not. When Raph lets his anger take control, he gets his ass kicked. Raph, in truth, is a rogue. He is likely to go off on his own and do his own thing, and when he keeps his head level and his anger under control, he strikes first. He does massive damage that, most of the time, his opponent can't recover from.

Also, Mikey is orange, and he is a multi-class Bard. He uses quick wit and a cheerful persona to help his teammates through flagging confidence and to taunt and provoke his enemy into making critical mistakes.

I approve of your creativity, nice idea!

power of the mind: "I am proud of you, my sons. Tonight you have learned the final and greatest truth of the Ninja: that ultimate mastering comes not from the body, but from the mind".

The value of compassion: "The merits of a great leader are these, but only when tempered with compassion and humility".

The fear of the unknown: "It will be all right, my son. People fear what they do not understand".

The importance of unity: "Keep the team unified, and you shall always succeed".

Raphael practically never use his sais like sais. It is a more subtle portrayal of his anger issues then his actual angry outbursts. Sais are specifically designed for weapon catching with the "tips" typically being blunt. A sai user baits an opponent to attack them, they get their opponents weapon between the prongs of the sai, and they twist ether with their wrist or their whole body. Presto their enemy is disarmed.... In other words the Sai is a peacekeeping "weapon" designed to disarm rowdy Samara without harming them. How Raphael uses them they can easily be replaced with daggers, or short swords.

Michelangelo similarly doesn't use his nunchaku correctly. Again like Raphael this is a subtle way of portraying his undisciplined nature. Nunchaku ironically are a more combat oriented disarming weapon. The goal other then bludgeoning the opponent upside the head is to get the chain wrapped around the opposing weapon, grab the currently free swinging nunchaku, pull, and release one nunchaku. The result is the enemy disarmed, and their weapon is now behind you putting them in a very compromising position unless they have a backup. Flail is most appropriate to how he fights, but that would cost a feat. I say make him a blond shield dwarf, and give him a warhammer.

Personally I am against multiclassing monks however I will just move on. Monks are a melee class that use dex or str + wis. As it isn't a spell benefit they have bad synergy with cha, and int dependent classes. That leaves Barbarian, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Ranger, and Rogue. Raphael is definitely a Berserker Barbarian. Knowledge Cleric fits Donatello very well, but he could also be a Land Druid. Leonardo as the leader best fits Battle Master Fighter with Beast Master Ranger as a runner up (name the pet Splinter). This leaves Michelangelo as ether a Rogue, or a Moon Druid. Michelangelo could be the ranger, but tracking is definitely Leonardo's job in the group.

Ah this thread is back.

The cool thing is there is now an 'official' Ninja subclass for Rogues, as well as some Ninja flavor mods for Shadow Monks and Assassin Rogues.

Darn it, still no nunchaku, shuriken, etc. though there are some katanas and ninja-tos.

There is a new version of kensei (blademaster) monk at mod.io.

Dam...I realise I haven't given this a go....

Guess I've gotta install BG3 again and do give it a go.

Just wondering what race would suit them best though.

I'm not sure if 5E has a "tortoise people" race. Nothing that I know of like WoW's Tortollans. Obviously that would work best. But with mods, there now are class options like Ninja (rogue) and Kensei (monk) or Samurai (fighter).

If you're going to name one of your chars Raphael, it would be interesting to have him fight Raphael (the cambion).

Darts are in the game files. I've seen mods that put darts back into the game. C'mon modders, make shuriken, they're BASICALLY darts. Or you could make them an adaptation of throwing knives.

Theres the Tortle race in 5e from Mordenkainen Monsters of the Universe, but I just checked the Nexus and there's no mod for them on there, so I don't think it has a mod on the BG3 modpage either.

I guess Githyanki would fit them most of the BG3 races.
