It kind of depends on your party, but thre's some items that are definitely an easier choice.
A ring of color spray which is quickly outclassed
A locket that gives access to dancing lights.
Three items readily accessible to feed Gale. Not gonna give locations unless asked, or you could look them up yourself. Not trying to spoil anything for ya.
One of the items buffs something like strength and intelligence and you don't need that in any playthrough beyond what you currently have. I can't remember the trait buffs, but once I saw them and was having this conversation with Gale, I gave him that item. Pretty sure it was a circlet/necklace?
The necklace with guidance is one of the best items in the game if you aren’t a cleric or Druid. Otherwise you are saddled with a cleric in your party which you may or may not want and even then there are times when the NPC cleric isn’t available for the buff like during camp interactions during long rest.
The first time i played i didnt really care at all, he got the cheapest item my party didnt want, so i could make the most gold i could. After my first play through i only fed him duplicate magic items i'd find and keep the 1 forever at camp and put the dupe in another container i'd call his lunchbox.
that sounds like a good idea thanks lol
Building everything around a simple 1d4 buff is mental, lmao.
He does take the generic +1 weapons or armor. It would be great if he did.
There's a few items like that; just keep looking around and once in a while you'll find an item that's like "I'm never gonna use that", so you can give that to Gale. Worst case scenario, some can be bought.
Yep, just a few steps beyond the distraught bard. First item Gale eats in my playthroughs.
