Spear of Night bugged. Is it necessary?

Ive just realized that the Spear of Night is nowhere to be found in any of my characters inventories even though I saw Ailyn give it to Shadowheart.

A bit searching reveals others having issues with the spear not appearing in an inventory when they speak of Ailyn using Shadowheart. This seems like a major bug and I hate to have to reload being hours past my last save previous to that cutscene.

How much will I be missing if I just let the spear go?

Not a lot, actually.

Spear of Night / Evening is a legendary spear based on Shadowheart's actions in the Shadowfell, but not having it literally doesn't break anything and to be honest? It gets beat out by other weapons (especially on SHeart, who - if she's on a Light Cleric build - has a BiS in Blood of Lathander; a whole-ass act prior).

So...you might want to look at your "camp chest". It might have been sent there.
Also no clue i found the weapon utterly useless. The mace(blood of L) was totally more useful weapon for her.

So...you might want to look at your "camp chest". It might have been sent there.

Best use-case I saw on this was on an Open Hand Monk who could spam Moonbeam without it breaking Sanctuary. Other than that it's really mid.

I lost the drive to continue the game it is bland for me. So i had just one not completed run. Did not test out these builds as it was not required. I know that blood of L was a funny weapon as sometimes its effect just suddenly stopped working.:D (Reequipping it made it work again:D) And that it was a very useful weapon in ACT2.

Thanks, I wasn't worried about the weapon so much as it being a story element later in the the game. If it isnt needed for her story progression I can let it go.
