Recruit Minthara good run
i was reading that you can recruit Minthara now even on a "good" run so that you have her and the rest of the companions.

is that true and how do you do it?

I straight up attacked her without talking to her, knocked her out and then completed the rest of the goblin camp combats before long resting. She was in Act 2 when I eventually got there.

Your best approach is to knock her out while she's still neutral or temp-hostile, while she's in the Goblin Camp. Then, taking sure to do so WITHOUT taking a Long Rest, take care of Gut & Ragzlin (ideally the whole camp if you can, they're spread out enough that you can systematically eliminate small squads at a time) and complete the Save the Refugees quest.

After the party, DO NOT return to the Shattered Sanctum, else Minthara will respawn at 1 HP and auto hostile and you'll have to re-knock her out again. I'd recommend after defeating Gut to go and unlock the Underdark Selunite Sanctuary waypoint before checking back with the tieflings. That, or use the side entrance at Waukeen's Rest (with the Zhents) to get access to the Underdark. Once you start Act II, Minthara will move to Moonrise Towers and from there, it's as normal: you rescue her from Moonrise and recruit her during the Ketheric conflict

Hit her when you talk to Minthara after you help with Sazza.... the way Minthara says
Ohhhh SAZZA.
I attack her in dialogue usually just for that reason.

This is a dead horse, reanimated, and beaten to death.

Minthara is easily recruitable as long as you do two things:

1. Knock her out during state "Temporarily Hostile".

2. Eliminate all three Goblin base bosses in a single Long Rest period.

There are plenty of in-depth guides out there not already listed in thread, especially on Youtube.

For a little more fun, you can also tell Minthara to attack the grove, betray her there and you help the Tieflings save the grove. I kill all enemies except Minthara and then knock her out. Before that, I freed Halsin in the goblin camp and killed Dror Ragzlin and Priestess Gutt.

All quests completed, Minthara is alive and the Tiefling party in the camp can start. :)

Amazing, first time I read that version, but keep her alive when allies can kill her anytime certainly make it hard to apply.

I had Shadowheart Featherfall buffed so she could jump to the hill where Minthara is standing. The Tieflings like Zevlor then jump down as well. I think if you don't buff Featherfall they are too far away from Minthara to shoot at. Assuming, of course, Minthara stays standing on the hill and don't run into their range.

I feel like Larian messed up by allowing this to happen. Should be a game of consequences and hard decisions.

It wasn't their original plan, but they felt they had too many feedback requesting the option so changed it to add it past some bugs exploit.

You can still make evil plays, and in my opinion you lost too many companions when doing that, just Wyll and Karlach but that's too much in exchange of one companion. But Wyll and Karlach have potentially a linked destiny so I suspect it's why they did it.
