What I will say is that it felt badly-written to me, especially compared to any of the other origin characters' stories.
Look at the amount of effort you can put into helping *every* other origin character with their problems. You can fight a powerful vampire and his whole coven, you can take on a temple full of worshipers of an evil and vindictive goddess, you can literally invade Hell itself to steal a powerful artifact from a devil in his own home.
But Karlach? Nah. Nothing. Once Dammon says the engine is going to fail, everyone just accepts that as the unquestionable truth and totally gives up on any solution instantly. There is no point in the story where you can make any active effort to do anything about the problem.
That's arguably very out of character for Karlach (she survived 10 years in Hell and clawed her way out, then just instantly gives up?) and it was *wildly* out of character for the Tav I was playing, but I was simply never given any opportunity to even *try* to help.
The epilogue they added in Patch 5 helps, but it still feels bizarre to me.
It's not enough to stop me liking her character, story, and romance a lot, but it did feel like one of the weakest parts of the writing to me.
Surprising. I'd look up a vid, but I'm not sure I need the spoilers.
Not by Larian, anyway. At least the Epilogue made one of her possible endings seem less hopeless.
Astarion is fine as well but I don't like how the romance is written in this game with all the companions asking you out one after the other, with not much relationship build-up before hand.
I find all the others insufferable, especially Karlach. Good thing you can do the "beheading by mistake" thing. To bad I cant get ride of Wyll and keep Mizora around.
Muting you.
