Clerics are the best class if you just want healing. Just a warning though, focusing only on healing is a bit of a trap. All healing uses spell slots and spell slots are limited. Also, without some specific builds, your healing will never outscale the damage you take if you take more than a couple of hits.

Oh. Then I need change the different strategy instead of healing.

limited in the sense that you need to do a long rest every so often but its kinda very hard to run out of food for resting after like an hour or so into the game

and very few places limit your ability to do long rests

Others can give you more exact advice, but if you really want a healing focused character, go Life domain cleric. Also, there are items you can find/buy that give you bonuses when healing. So, you can build a character around healing, but just don't expect them to be topping everyone to 100% HP at all times.

I'm playing Bard and healing hasn't been great. I'm almost thinking going back to Paladin save. I'm new at Savage Island level 2. Short rests gone and apparently need long rest. Also damage isn't great. Dialogue not great either...I guess wait and see?

Yeah this is true. If you don't mind resting after every other fight, you can use a lot of healing spells.

Play a life Cleric for healing. Equip all the gear that gives bonuses for healing like Hellrider's Pride. The other classes have poor healing options.

You know, no one said this. I know Cleric is one of the top classes too. Thanks.

Druids are probably better than bards at healing, though bards can play their song of rest which gives you a freebie short rest beyond the two you normally get. And everybody heals on a short rest.

All in all, there is one main reason to play bard: Vicious Mockery. Just to hear the quips your bard will throw out when they use it. Glorious.

Life cleric is imo the best when it comes down to healings, and being able to link health with another character, makes circle of moon druid shine ( +1 AC and saves and the possibility to tank double the damage because of the split, makes it pretty good. Owlbear rocks ).

Devotion Paladin is a strong heal and support class.

You shouldn’t even need a healer in this game at balanced difficulty level. You can pop a heal pot as a bonus action. That really should be enough. Healing overall in this D&D style isn’t like other RPG. It’s weak. High AC, Dex, and spells like mage armor, Bless, shield, counter spell, should negate the need for lots of heals. Every character that’s not two handing should have a shield equipped, casters should have mage armor spell plus a shield equipped always. If you’re frequently taking lots of hit you’re not doing it right.

Between bard and druid pure classes ONLY, Druid.

BUT

Healing is not as important in BG3 as you might think - healing to put people back from wounded state is, but several classes can do it wit ha single lv1 spell, healing word.

On the other hand, this game has several healing items that make healing WAY more than "regain some HP", so AoE or group heals can become quite useful - without being forced into a character that does not have other strenghts.

My favorite healer is Oath of the Ancients paladin 8/life cleric 4 (or 6/6). Pally auras, the excelent healing radiance channel oath ability, misty step, CHAb ased so good party face because of the pally part + disciple of life to empower heal spells, blessed healer to self-heal on heals on others.

Pair this with all healing items you get, specially Hellrider's pride, the gloves you get really early, and AoE healing becomes "your whole party is almost as resilient as raging barbarians", plus the heal itself.

not to sound like a jerk, but instead of focusing on healing, you should focus on taking as little damage as possible. if you can master that, then healing pots and short rests will do the healing for you regardless of your classes and party composition.

also, if you have a dedicated healer, then that character isn't doing much to reduce enemy strength. your party would probably do better with a character that is more proactive rather than reactive. healing in BG3 is really just for keeping someone from dying, not to keep them at max hp all the time.

all that being said, Healing Word and Aid are the healing spells I use most often when I really need it.
