POV character's soul echo stuck at bottom of chasm. Withers is not an option.
what do?

Long story short, doing a Wyll honour mode run. We get into a fight, and an enemy knocks Wyll off a balcony and down into a chasm. His soul echo for some reason spawns at the bottom of the chasm, and is not within range of revivify. Since we're in a hostile area, we can not simply return to Withers in order to revive Wyll for some gold.

I'm willing and able to accept that he might just be gone for the rest of the area, and i'll need to have another character take over POV, but i just wanted to double check first.

Is there anything i can do to revive him or move his soul echo? Saving and loading has not helped, re-launching the game has not helped, and it's honour mode, so i can't load a previous save. Despite my best attempts, his echo is just stuck down there, so i might just be SOL. Thought i'd ask all the same.

Can you not move a character out of the hostile zone?

Not to my knowledge. i think we're locked in until we complete it.

Full spoilers, act 3:

I'm in the House of Hope, and i just killed the succubus in Raphiel's bedroom. one of his imps knocked Wyll off with an eldritch blast.

As far as i'm aware, we can't leave until we get the Orphic hammer. or at least if we try too, Hope or something else will stop us or try to progress the story. I didn't fully explore this place last time i played, so i'm not sure what'll happen.

i'm not sure if it prevents you from leaving as i've never tried before without the hammer

i would suggest sending at least one character back to see if they can return; if not you'll just have to continue and Wyll is probably lost for good

probably a good idea then yea. just hope i don't get ambushed or something on the way out because "i'm not continuing with the story" or whatnot.

after thinking about it... i don't think sending someone out of the area to go back to camp is going to work. that's going to take them to a whole new area isn't it?

like i'm pretty sure you can't have one character in Baldurs Gate and one character in Rivington. it's all or nothing.

unless this area counts like a basement or something i guess? i'm not sure.
