Basically is a way to just tell you "hey we detected you are using mods, if crash of instability happens, don't blame us"
If it pop up for you, it means the launcher detected files that are not considered vanilla. If you 100% sure you never ever installed mods (and did not clean properly the game when you removed it) and the message pop up, means some file got corrupted and is not recognised anymore.
Best way to solve this is go on %appdata%/local/Larian Studios/Baldur's Gate 3/ and delete the Mods folder .
Then head to steam/steamapps/common/Baldur's Gate 3 and open data folder. Delete the "Generated" folder you find there, then go back to steam/steamapps/common/Baldur's Gate 3 and delete the "Public" folder.
Verify your game with steam, let it download the missing files.
This way your client is 100% clean and if anything was corrupted, it is restored.
In case you are not using mods and already done the standard verification check this

Hello! Sorry for bothering you months after this, but this has happened to me and I do have a bunch of mods. If I follow your instructions will my mods be gone or can I get them back?
