Is Executioner just buggy?
I have that ring that lets you store a guaranteed crit and use it whenever. I'm fighting Cazador right now and I had Astarion cast Brand the Weak on him to initiate the combat, and want to use my own character to land a sneak attack crit for double damage using Executioner. But it just doesn't work. At all. I get no prompt to activate it. If I turn off the prompt so that it happens automatically, it just doesn't crit. My character has the status that clearly says "Next attack roll will be a critical hit". What gives?

That doesn't tell me anything new, it should be working based on that information.

I ended up just reloading the game until I landed a natural crit. Not gonna feel bad about it if the game is just gonna bug like that :P

If anything it gives you the troubleshooting tree for the feature.

Executioner won't trigger until your first kill of the day, after that point you can toggle the passive on subsequent attack rolls (not attacks, you don't have to hit with the passive to trigger).

If you haven't triggered the passive by getting a kill with the equipping character first, then it won't trigger.

I had already killed many enemies since the last long rest and I had the status indicator for it on my character. It was prompting me to use the crit every time I attacked an enemy on the way to Cazador, and it was still prompting me while attacking the other enemies after killing him. It just wouldn't prompt me when attacking him specifically for some reason

Then either Cazy's crit-immune, or he's bugged because of Misty Escape. One of the two.

Just curious, do you have Astarion specced as an Assassin? I don't know if it's the same with other Rogue specs, but Assassin sneak attacks are always crits, so it wouldn't consume the Executioner charge since it's already a crit and that would waste the charge.

He's apparently not immune to crits, like I said I was able to just reload until I landed a crit naturally instead.

I do have Astarion as an assassin but my character is the one with the ring and is a thief.

Maybe I just bugged the fight by initiating the combat before he even talked to Astarion lol. He was dead before he even got to take a turn and start his ritual
