Why doesn't Larian add new faces, hair, makeup, body tattoos?
I went to take a look at the MODS website, I have to say I was tempted and impressed with what I saw there. Lots of beautiful hair, new faces, classes, among tons of things that would make this game reach another level.
If these guys did this, why doesn't Larian do it? I heard that they prefer to "Support" Mods, rather than creating something official themselves. I don't like Mods, for me, they are flawed customization files that always cause problems on the computer, after all, they are not made by the game company.
Larian should bring more official customizations to the playerbase, if Moders do it, why can't the Larian team?

Why should they?
Leave it to the mod creators.

Did you send them an actual request on their official forum/platform as they requested, or did you simply complain about it on Steam? The latter is ineffective and likely the reason why they didn't take action—because nobody asked for it directly.

Doesn't using mods open you up to putting a virus on your machine? Your computer might be spending resources for tasks in a botnet.

Is it possible? Sure. But not probable if vetted properly. The word of a malicious file buried in a mod would spread like wild-fire. It doesn't happen often, at least not on trusted mod sites.

"If Modders can do it, why can't the Larian team?" That's like saying, if Modders can fix the games of Bethesda, why can't Bethesda do the same?

Man, you really are deadset on ragebaiting with every topic that comes to your mind without even knowing the difference between a company and modders.

I mean, that is a good question. But lasting bugs that the devs ignore are pretty different from cosmetics.

Modding is 100% risk free, if you get them from a reputable place like Nexus. I've been using mods since before Nexus existed, too, and never had a single virus. They'll screw up some save games, sometimes, and (like BG3 is going) mods will stop working after fixes while the modders catch up. But the biggest danger of using mods, if everything went wrong, you'll probably have to uninstall/reinstall. There is a bit of a learning curve to the whole modding thing, esp with complicated games like BG3, but it pays off in ways you've never even considered.

you then might accidentally be able to create beautiful women in the vanilla game which would make the ethics departments head explode

They have to have something to sell as DLC, just give it time. :)

I made two very beautiful female Tavs in the character creator.

OK, one was mod based, because it was a custom race (Aasimar) but wasn't using any other cosmetic mods.

The other - straight from scratch from vanilla options- was very pretty. I fully admit I rarely care much what my male Tavs look like. I like making female Tavs I want to look at more. (LOL)

Don't wanna take my word for it? Look at the work of some folks on Xbox and PS5, where you CAN'T use mods.

BTW, though harken corrected himself to the correct point, modding is NEVER "risk free" EVEN if a game isn't being patched and updated because with some mod authors, it's a bit like a box of chocolates, like Forrest Gump said... you never know what you're going to get .... however all mods at Nexus are screened for viruses before they can be hosted.

Because mod quality varies, if you're in doubt, check the mod's Bug Reports and User Forums at Nexus. 20 pages of complaints and bugs, stay away from that one.

It is pathetically easy to make beautiful women in this game.

That you can't do it without mods is just skill issue. Or maybe your standards are unrealistically high?

Can confirm. I could make the most boringly hot, pixelated, fictional woman I have ever seen and then I hit the randomizer for TRUE beauty.

they won't add anything with sex appeal or specific to male appeal
no boob sliders, no jiggle, amorphous character creator so all options are everywhere making it seem bigger than it actually is
no male/female so everything has no meaning just body types and pronouns/identity slider
broad shoulders, flat hips, no real dommy character design (no karlach isn't) its baffling

a look to black desert online really shows how weak this creator is despite of early access and with how much it changed on release very apparent why (E.A. had no body type just male/female, no identity politics til release)
