Astarion weapons

Until you get your hands on two hand crossbows, which seem quite rare, what would you arm Astarion with?

If you keep him as the base rogue, I'd go for daggers / rapiers (Knife of the Undermountain King), for stealth attack, and a longbow (shortbow if you don't have the gloves of archery) with a special effect (the one giving haste is good, but there are others).

I usually like to have him dual wielding shortswords, often ones that cause poison or bleed, really good for when I have him spec'd assassin. (Usually in combo with add'l poison on top, of course.) Used to do a shortsword-dagger RH-LH combo, but ... eh, 5E doesn't use backstabs anymore, and so he really doesn't NEED to use daggers.

When I started respec'ing him to a pirate/swashbuckler, I switched those up for cutlasses and sabers, which seemed more appropriate. But I still kept him a dual wielder.

Bow from the burning tavern is great(assuming you don't need the wand). For weapon the sword from underdark(phalur ave or w/e it was called) and whatever else you got for dual wielding. Alternative is strength stick from underdark and titan bow leaving you as full-time ranged.

Le pro tip: After you get Withers, and respec your crew to have more reasonable stats, go to Dammon before leveling up. Check his inventory then take 1 level on 1 guy. It's easy to get all the weapons you want this way as he resets inventory each level.

May be best combo until act 3 is titanstring bow from zentarim hideout + stool leg (u can use it in pair with any other light melee) from arcane tower. (And you can still use giant strength pots until\instead getting stool leg).
