How do people pick up Karlach's head?

So i'm doing an evil playthrough and i met Karlach and killed her, but i have seen online there are people who pick up her head, but i don't get the opinion. Is this a bug?

Probably not a bug, you need a quest to do it. Wylls quest to kill Karlach or the Paladin quest to kill her will let you pick up her head

It did not even cross my mind that threadstarter just randomly killed Karlach without the quest.

I had already picked up Wyll's quest and even had him in my party and everything, but i still did not get the opinion. Weird.

That does sound like a bug. You tried looting her right? Try speaking to the Paladins again and see if telling them about Karlach's death will let you cut her head off.

Maybe check everyone's inventory? Use the latest sorting option to make it easier.

I thought the people who wanted her head were up the hill.

(I put it in the pub in Act 3 on my extinction run. It stayed there and never vanished.)

I did loot her corpse, but nothing showed up,, but because of you I think I found why this opinion did not show to me. I killed the paladins before bothering to speak to them… oops.

I thought Wyll’s quest was enough.

Maybe it's just the Paladins that want her then and I remembered wrong. Are you on Honour mode or can you load an older save ?

When you attempt to loot, there will be a dialog before you can do it. Without that dialog, she keeps her head. There is a second instance where this scenario happens further into Act I. Both require the appropriate quest. (Karlach has two involving her death. One of them wants her head.)

Maybe you need to be a Durge without the paladins?

Or both. One companion's hand was set next to another's head at the pub in my extinction run.

Only time I've gotten the quest for Karlach's head, is after talking to the paladins of Tyr and them asking for it.
