OTOH, it's actually funny this time.
What are you talking about? I enjoy everything in BG3 and I am a republican, as well as a PCO in my district. This has never felt woke at all. Its a genuinely enjoyable experience.
damage control. it's corporate speak. I don't believe the other 2 statements from the OPs, but they are just talking nice because that's good for business.
We don't really know of course. It could just be them wanting to do something different.
I believe Sven might want to maintain a working relationship with WotC so as to leave future collaborations open. Yeah. So he's being very diplomatic.
I suspect he WAS upset about WotC firing the people he had first worked with and made the licensing deal with. He said as much. I don't think that was the sole or key reason for the 'breakup'. But yeah, post facto, he's not emphasizing that. No need to.
He wants to do other stuff, but he doesn't want a bridge totally burned after leaving. Makes sense to me.
Also, if it was something the other way around - like Larian had ticked off WotC over - whatever? - there's no reason WotC wouldn't have said so - and they are also confirming there's no bad blood between them.
In short, I guess you could claim both sides are lying. As usual, that would be speculation for which you have provided no evidence.
So we've arrived at things just.. being business as usual. Huh.
hasbro fired everyone they worked with. they stated there were miserable. likely they both lie, they don't want bad PR. pretty silly if you believe all the publicity statement corporations make. You have to read between the lines and look at their actions, not what they say.
lying, cheating, and stealing makes money.
