Hi, perhaps you misunderstood my phrasing. Yes, he is in my camp, although I did the curse lift quest in Act 2 pretty late, (after I've basically cleared other Act 2 quests available), therefore he wasn't available as a companion sooner than I'd like him to. Only during the quest to attack Mooneise then kill Ketheric Thorm were he start to become available in my party.
I was just wondering if the lateness to his recruitment may affect the ability to romance him somehow, like not gaining his approval enough because I did a lot of quests without him.
That said, much of his approval is gained previously, while talking with him about himself, about what might happen with the Grove without him, about his feeling about wandering with the party, etc.
If you did all this in act II (and helped him to lift the curse), then at the start of the act III Halsin's approval will be at least 60 (very good).
However, in my walkthroughs he neatly hid his interest in MC until the party reached BG Lower. Again, there appeared new lines in camp dialogue with the druid, smth about 'how do you feel yourself within the big city'.
In short: if you show Halsin you're interested in himas a person, not just as a companion, then sooner or later he shows his interest, too. In that very form you want.
I never included Halsin in the party in my walkthroughs, just spoke with him often, and got it anyway.
