Continue and you will be rewarded with a challenging game, a cast of interesting characters and quests... music for this entry is... average-ish.
If youu never played RPGs this might be the game for you. Turn based is the better choice that Larian made, you could pay me to play Dragon´s Dogma and I wouldn´t.
Act 1 is very enjoyable. Probably worth it.
First you need to determine why you want to buy the game. If you don't know D&D and have never played an RPG, why do you want to buy BG3? I'm honestly curious about that, not trying to be snarky. If you're worried that it's going to be hard to learn, you definitely should wait for it to be on sale. IMO, as someone who has put nearly 100 hours into it, it's not worth full price and isn't as good as many others say.
Also if you get REALLY unfortunate with rolls in combat it can end badly. Sometimes it feels like XCOM has infilitrated the game and taken over the dice, which can either be hilarious or make you exhale in mild-but amused- annoyance.
Make sure to save often, and I mean often.
The game's pretty story heavy, which could be a good or bad thing depending on your preferences. I liked the story quite a bit, but I'm a D&D and RPG nerd, so I'm hardly unbiased.
As for how hard the game is to learn, that depends on how quickly you can pick up rules systems and apply them- but on the lower two difficulties, if you can figure out stuff to the extent of "the fighter should have the highest Strength possible and the best armor I can find them" you'll be fine.
Basically, if you like the idea of a story-heavy game with turn-based tactical combat, it's worth at least a look IMO, but as I said i'm basically the exact target market for this game so I'm quite biased in its favor.
That makess zero sense. He wants to buy a RPG. So what if it´s D&D based? What an asinine comment. It´s a much better first entry than Skyrim orr Dragon´s Dogma for newbies, WAY easier to calibrate.
Try Explorer difficulty level and some handy-andy class (myself, I'd choose Rogue, but that's an issue be like so many men, so many minds).
Make sure within Options menu that the Carmic Dice check is on.
As been said, make sure to save often, and remember that you can Quicksave even in the middle of dialogue (f.e., before especially important Skill check).
Decide for yourself issues about cruelty and nudity in the game and check or uncheck it in the Options menu.
Try to play without mods, at least for the first time. It's a non-stop issue that every new hotfix (huge patch, moreso) tends to ruin modded installations.
And don't hesitate to search the latest discussion and ask questions. Better to seem an unexperienced player than to drown your pleasure in chagrin from some playthrough issue.
IMHO, the game is definitely worth to buy and play.
Good luck on Faerun!
Especially if you're a caster. One stray swing from a cyclops' random flailing and you get deleted from existance.
Wait what? They use days instead of hours?!
