Can you romance Karlach?

I'm in act 1 and I've noticed most characters have got pretty romantic with me, but Karlach very rarely talks and most certainly hasn't wanted to do anything romantic. Also she has the highest approval out of all my companions. I have also got that thing for her heart from the guy in the druid camp by giving him iron wood or whatevrr. I don't want to miss anything in act 1 but I'm worried if I move to act 2 I'll miss an important moment with her.

How does Karlach work will she romance in act 1 or is that in act 2?

Yes, you can. However, due to her heart issue, the interactions in Act 1 will be limited. Try taking a few more long rests, see if something new pops up.

There is a party after you... resolve the issues between the Grove, Tieflings, and the Goblins. You have to initiate her romance there.

Be warned that Karlach will immediately betray you if you side with the Absolute.

I prefer to cut off her head immediately upon encountering. Death to traitors.

That's an opportunity, but not the only one... I got the "spend the night flirting" scene BEFORE the party in one playthrough.

just keep her in your party and raise her approval. she likes good guy / hero stuff

and make sure you long rest often in Act 1 to see camp events

Talk to her frequently, too. Play into the suggestive dialog options. ( Things like after the "Paladins of Tyr" fight when she asks how she looks, tell her she looks "hot" because of the obvious double meaning there ) Pick the dialog option about "I still can't touch you" and tell her you really want to after the first heart upgrade. Stuff like that. In short, be flirty.

If in doubt, follow Karlach's Romance Guide. Everybody says the companions are all horny teenagers constantly sexually throwing themselves at you. Except it's not true, and because it's not true, there are romance guides.
