Report a translation problem
1) The dialogue with Flind appears only if you haven't used your illithid mind-connecting skill before that day. To start, it needs to be the first one (and it shall cut off any further use of it that day, perhaps, it gets your larva too tired).
2) When you encounter Flind, it is busy drawing the Absolute symbol on a stone wall. Make sure you find its previous masterpiece on a flat stone nearby (needs not very high Perception check). If you don't spot it, you won't have any common themes to discuss with Flind, and it will attack at once.
