Indeed. And THAT is why we should keep Larians away from KotOR. We need modern games having less bugs - not outdated rotten LARIAN'S engine where simple words "buggy" and "hardware-destructive" is not enough.
Which one? My message, or Sonrangeri's?
(No they're not. That would be insane. It would be a surprise but insane, too. Didn't someone try that with DOOM on some handheld ages and ages ago? My brain remembers the hilarity that ensued from something like that.)
Seems like a perfect match for Larian to do KOTOR 3. If they can make BG3 the gayest game in history, why wouldn't they be a good fit for Star Wars? There would certainly be less controversy.
Actually, I can.
You see, after 293 hours of playing BG3 and after downloading new patch (something to do with graphics, don't remember a number, however) I noticed that my PC's coolers became louder.
As I checked with various software (like AIDA64 and several others), when BG3 were in character creation screen - and when I loaded game in later acts, my videocard's temperature have bocoming 98+ celsius - and were rising, fast.
I stopped playing BG - and checked other games I had: Cyberpunk, Witcher 3 and Monster Hunter Rise along with some others - none of these games had same effect on my videocard. I reinstalled Windows to exclude possibility of miners and whatnot (yes, I officially own the game, not Yarrrrr edition, but it's 21 century - you never know)- then installed BG3 again.
Next thing I seen after loading save file - severe drop in performance. So called microfreezes, but nvidia's temperature were fine. I tried playing for 10 minutes looking at AIDA64 on second screen (I use 2, specifically for cases like this) before I got blue screen of death. Haven't had time to scan QR code when I smelled burnt plastic and heard coolers wailing like crazy. Then - smoke popped up along with some weird hissing.
After - I turned my PC off, but...Videocard was done for, sadly. And yes - I googled, there were more people like me after playing BG3.
Technically, it hurt your GPU but not you specifically.
Still, that's the first time I've heard of such a thing in regards to BG3. If it would've been more widespread it should've been reported on by the usual sites, I recon.
First time hearing this? Well, that is weird.
Personally, I keep hearing about this sort of problems with RTX3080ti and BG3 for quite some time now.
