NO DLC? NO EXPASIONS?

It's a travesty I tell you, a travesty! One of the few games I was so looking forward to for more content...especially for Astarion. GONE, NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN...why? just why... This and Elden Ring had to be the most anticipated DLC drops. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

Every indication is that Hasbro will find a new partner and continue to produce D&D content. They aren't dumb. They know there is a wealth of story telling left in these characters. There will be DLC's or sequels for BG and D&D will get more movies and maybe a TV series. All chances for Astarion and company to ride again.

Larian has gone against all business logic and left behind a cash cow that would made made them (even more) fabulously rich for years to come... in an industry where every other company would have done so had they stumbled upon a megahit like BG3, they continue doing things unlike anyone else, but that's how they got to where they are.

No doubt they will bring back all the voice actors that gave life to BG3's characters, and their souls will live on in the new game.

I can only watch in awe as they boldly go, where no one has gone before.

Yeah its baffling to be honest. Game is currently missing some key features and story lines. DLC or Deluxe edition could really complete the game more but noooooooo. Hasbro had to get nasty and fire most of the team... then asking Swen if he is cool to making new DLC. I am shocked There wasn't more push back on Hasbro about this. So now Hasbro is going to hire some half backed group of devs to nickle and dime us on this game. ugh

When I found out about no DLC I was angry. It passed I am disappointed now. I mean why no continue to story or add more content in act 2 act 3 like exploring the Abyss or Upper City or mature only content or improve NPC story/content etc. Obviously they can make ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of money if they make DLC. I think they are scared of failure. They rose the stakes to high and well I can't explain why not continue. So much more stuff to add the base was there. Many will say they never make DLC to any of their games. This was not any game. Their other games don't come near this not even 10% of the success this game has. No DLC is a slap on the face of the community and all who love and want more of this game. Maybe I will get banned or something but I will at least say what I believe. Congratulations to Larion for making the best RPG game in last 10-20 years but not having the ba.lls to continue is a huge let down.

You should really catch up on all the statements made by the owners of the IP and the developers of the game before jumping to such ridiculous conclusions.

Your assumption is that Larian owns the IP. It does not. Hasbro owns it and did not license it to Larian for any more content. we don’t know why and neither party has a reason to disclose it. i don’t think Sven’s comments mean that this is what larian wanted. Business rationality tells you that they could not reach agreement on the numbers and Larian is putting the best spin on it for themselves. hasbro predictably has killed its goose laying golden eggs because it seems very poorly managed. they are bringing the games in house so they don’t share profits … but I doubt they can produce anything close to Bg3 in quality without partnering with Larian or an equivalent independent developer.

Yeah, "integrity". If every company has Larian's "integrity," we would never have seen expansions like Throne of Bhaal for Baldur's Gate 2 or Blood and Wine for Witcher 3. It's like if Peter Jackson had bailed after just the first Lord of the Rings movie and being praised for doing so. Larian is sleazy and clever to mask its lack of commitment as “integrity” to fool fans who can only see the surface level.
