Is definitive edition coming ?

With the coming of sad news that larian decided to move on to making new game, I would like to know from good folks from larian if Definitive edition of BG3 is coming at all ?

Context : Larian (sven) confirmed that there won't be any new DLC or expansion for BG3.

We can hope, but we're getting to the same amount of time after both Divinity games got one and no word.
So either they're shadow dropping it with Patch 7 and mod support, it'll still be some time after that patch, or they're just planning to keep releasing smaller patches instead of a DE.

It's purely speculation based on their previous games and how most of them(?) got a definite edition at the end. They had some major stuff added or changed from the base game.

Maybe it's the case her as well? Or maybe it's not, no clue. This is, after all, an IP they don't own.

The whole point of Larian's message was: "When you buy a game, you get a game." and no additional payment. So, a DLC is not likely. A sequel, on the other hand, is almost certain and, probably sooner than we think.

Swen confirmed they will not be making a sequel, and their next game will have nothing to do with D&D.

Correct, WotC OWNS the IP, They licensed it to make this game. That would not stop them from making a Definitive Edition.
