but See Invisibility is a DEX saving throw. if enemies pass it, then the See Invisibility fails. and I think the save DC for it is kind of low
Ah, good point. Thanks for the tip. The write up I read saying it used an amulet slot was Sept 8, 2023, so right on the bubble.
That's great to know. I started this "quest" because Yurgir was going invisible. I beat him anyway, but wanted to figure out what was going on. Do you know if a lost saving throw for Volo's eye would appear in the combat log?
Thanks!
The effect has a range of 9 meters / 30 feet - I think this detail remains for many... invisible (yes, terrible pun, but I regret nothing!).
Some of us have also been checking the logs and doing some testing when it comes to what the DC is for the saving throw.
Here is another discussion specifically about that.

We still need more testing done, but preliminary results appear for the DC to be 8+wisdom modifier+proficiency, with wisdom modifier + proficiency matching up with characters perception check modifier total. This is what the dex roll to save goes against.
If the theory pans outs, high wisdom characters and those with extra proficiency to perception specifically should detect invisible things more often with eye (or any other form of detect invisibility) than another character, since less things will make the harder save on the dex saving roll.
Appears to be the same with detect invisibility as a spell, or any other form of detect invisibility.
