Will this game ever go on sale?

So, I've been keeping an eye out for ages and I've yet to see BG3 go on sale at all.

There were other games that seemed like they wouldn't ever get a price reduction, Elden Ring being one - though that has been on sale several times recently.

The reason I ask is because I've seen people play the game, have fun, and recommend it...but I'm not sure it's really my thing, and I don't think 2 hours is enough time to make an informed decision.

I'd like to pick it up in a sale, obviously, but it never seems to happen.

Just voicing an opinion.

I think we'll see a sale this year, but it is still apparently the 12th most sold or played game or something, so unlikely any time soon.

Technically, it has been on sale since Early Access launched. In terms of discount, there has been a -10% one not too long ago due to getting the GotY award, if I'm not mistaken.

Chances are during the summer sale there'll be a similar discount but nothing more than that. If we're comparing it to D:OS2, which started getting bigger discount years after it has been released, it may take up to two years.

E: I'd suggest the GOG version, which comes with a 30-day no questions asked refund policy.

It was on sale during the Steam Awards; you missed it.

That being said, it was only $6 off. You're going to be waiting a long time before a meaningful sale happens.

It already had a 10% discount at some point.

The game is still selling like hotcakes at full price. Discounts are normally only given to make something sell faster when it's not really in the picture anymore.

Every game will go on sale at some point. With very successful games you need to be more patient. Deeper discounts will happen a year after release, sometimes two.

There are rumors that it will be on sale from March 14, but I don't think that there will be a large discount, maybe 10% again or little more, they don't need it to sell the game after so many accolades, maybe in 5 years.
