my is MacBook Pro Apple M1 Max 64 GB RAM

Baldur's gate 3 was running good on this mac until this hotfix#21 hits me down

now the performance is intolerable

I would second this. The problem has gotten progressively worse. Initially, cut scene video played at about 2 FPS. Now the entire game runs at about 2 FPS. This is on a Mac Studio M1 Max with 32GB of RAM. Definitely seems to be related to the last (21) patch.

I’m having the same problem, terrible lagging, contacted Larian with issue who emailed me with a host of remedies to try. Made no difference, disappointed!

SAME okay thank goodness it's happening to others. I've had to quit the game like it's unplayable!!! Please can someone tell me how to uninstall this hotfix, this is my first time playing and I'm devastated.

BG3 will no longer launch on my Mac Mini M1 16 GB RAM after Hotfix 20-21. It was running great before. Please fix!

UPDATE. Been in touch with Larian and reported issue . Replied to say they know of problem and are looking into it and hopefully have a Hotfix to solve it soon. Let’s hope its not to long !

same here. Macbook M1 MAX with 64GB RAM. Game was playing amazingly until the last fix which tanked my FPS. Don't know if this is any help, but dialog scenes with the entire party would cause a massive slowdown but close ups with one or two players would be fine. Not sure what the culprit is.

same problem here. before the patch i played bg3 on ultra settings at 40-50 fps. now its constantly under 20fps. And it doesn't change anything if i lower the graphics settings. So i don't think its graphic issue. I reported it to Larian as well, and they are aware of the issue and work on a solution, so they say.

Same with MacBook Pro M2 Max with 96 GB. The videos are so slow the game is unplayable.

I have same issue, mac M2 max 32Gb. Now are unplayable.

It runs a little better with Game Mode enabled.

Run Chess in fullscreen to force Game Mode to kick in.

Booted it up (M3 Max) it ran very poorly, but played for a few minutes and it corrected itself. Runs fine at 3840x1440 now. Except that one bit in act 3 that never runs well. You know the spot.
