The inventory management in BG3 is really bad
The inventory management in BG3 is really bad. Just meaningless busywork.

There is no reason to have separate inventories for each party member when you can already instantly teleport items anytime anyway. Want to see inventory management done right, Larian? Look at how the Pathfinder games do it. Shared party inventory, one click vendoring. I hope you'd just adapt that and improve it rather than continually tweak your current mess of a system.

And for the love of god, why is the highlight button not highlighting ALL interactable objects? Why is one container being highlighted but another which contains more valuable items isn't?

Yep, unnecessarily tedious. Not sure why they have food bags, key bags, etc but not scroll and potion bags... I guess you can use the actions button but if your inventory is already cluttered you'll be met with a cluttered screen anyway. Or you can use the search function but.. um... in so many cases all this would be unnecessary if most items were automatically categorized in the first place.. lol anyway... rant over. :p

Like?
Because the whole "every party member has their own weight limits and inventory" is standard for **MULTIPLAYER GAMES** like this.

I cant think of any game in the genre in the last ten years that didnt have a character based inventory unless it was exclusively single player or had 0 customization for your party members.
If you want to go that route Solasta does it better by using bags of holding etc. that are equipped per character that increase encumbrance. Owlcat has better sorting options, there is the inventory grid with icons along the side to quick sort by types, eg all, weapons, armor, consumables, etc. The wheel has been invented and improved, Larian is still trying to figure it out after 6 patches and 21 hotfixes.

Yeah, I found that hallowed out book that I use for scrolls but I can't remember where I found the thing.
I'm thinking mods are going to be the key here.

Yep it's the behind a wall where the goblins that are holding Barcus hostage lol... I used that for scrolls but then I just stopped bothering and use the search function... still not optimal.. the bags bags bags mod seems like the best solution, if a bit overkill(it has so many types of bags lol), but I don't wanna install mods yet. There must be a reason why Larian hasn't done scrolls potions and arrows... but I can't figure out which it is... too confusing? but they already have that for other types of items...

Yeah, I'd like to hold of on mods till the big patch cadence stops breaking mods. Thanks for pointing to the location of that book, though.
