You're probably missing a requirement or something.

I have 60 mods, no issues on my end.

I would delete all the mods, verify your game files and then try and find a good tutorial on how to mod this game. While I have enjoyed modding over the years, when I first started I made many mistakes which would have been solved by a good tutorial.

I will try and look and post one here if I remember.

Delete / Disable all mods and test the game. If it works then it's all good, just add mods slowly back one by one to see which mod is the bad one.

The most drastic option is to delete all files in the game through File Explorer, delete the game and then reinstall (this works 100% for mods that you add manually, I'm not sure if it works for mod managers where you check which mod you want on or off.)

Just to add to whats already said. Lots of modding guides on youtube that can steer you in the right direction. Always make a test file for your mods to see if you installed them right. Back up your saves before you install mods. Seriously, it will save you some headache if something goes wrong.

ok im going to just delete everything because even verifying isnt working. Wish I could add mods tho.

If your game is stuck loading. search your PC for "modsettings" file. Delete all of them that are associated with Larian/balder's gate.
The game will create a new one when you start it and it should fix that issue.

As for getting your mods working. ugh... might be a waste of your time until Larian comes up with a better solution as hotfixes and patches are frequent and break your mods.

I honestly personally would not bother until they make steam workshop.

Editing game files yourself is usually a mess

ok i did things you guys said and now my game wont open during the first loading screen.

I have never managed to successfully play the game once with a mod downloaded and 'installed' (incorrectly, no doubt!) from the Nexus site. THere are some fantastic mods on there, but they are impossibly fiddly to download and install to run correctly.
Mind you I am absolutely useless IT-wise, I try to follow th einstructions but it always goes wrong or I am told I need another mod, and then another mod, and then the latest one is incompatible with the first one (that I am actually trying to install and use!). And then crash, delete the whole lot and re-install vanilla (which takes a long, long time!)
So I thikn I will wait until there is a decent Steam Workshop up and running. This is a good game but it coudl bea great game with the mods that are out there (mainly on Nexus)

In case people are unaware, there's a very good mod manager simply called "Baldur's Gate 3 Mod manager" that greatly simplifies the process of installing mods. If you're having trouble and you're not using that, I'd recommend it.
Well, that or wait until the official mod support comes out, whatever you're more comfortable with.

There is a reason many of the mods have "Ability to Read" as a requirement

lol
use vortex, itll tell you when something needs to be updated. it also checks for things that conflict so you can fix the conflicts, but unless you know what you're doing you'll have to just remove the mods one by one until you figure out which one was causing the issue. if you already know which one is causin the problem, then you have to remove it until its updated. Some mods never get updated for example if they were released in EA and the modder never came back, so check to see when the most recent update was that'll give you a clue if they are actively maintaining the updates.

after you update baldurs gate 3, like if the devs put out a new patch to fix bugs, it will break lots of mods until the modders update to work with the new patch. thats just part of the struggle.

I disagree, I'd use the BG3 Mod Manager, it's designed specifically for the game. If you look at installation instructions nearly every mod suggests using it, and it's extremely easy to use, literal drag and drop installation & activation.

Not touching BG3 Mod Manager againw ith a barge pole, sorry. Every time I've downloaded and installed it, it crashes the game whenever I try to open it.
Had to completely delete the Mod Manager as well as the entire game and reinstall from scratch - which given it's size takes a long, long time... :-(
So, never again!

BTW found it very diffuclt to install and use! It kept on telling me to download and install other files before running it, like soemthing weird called 'Net Framework' and 'NET' soemthing else which just caused my PC to act weird.
