Call me crazy but I think having to reload because I cant fast travel in the mindflayer colony is a bad design

And there's really no reason to not be able to fast travel before the fight with Thorn. All my party got wiped but my character and now im supposed to solo that part?
Same for the rest of the moonlight towers. Why can't I fast travel inside? The only contribution this adds to the experience is that you have to walk all the way out. This benefits in no way the gameplay nor adds any fun or depth.

I agree it's irritating in the mindflayer colony, but there is a device near the elevator that can give you the benefits of a long rest.

No revivify scrolls or spell? Also use the healing device if you reload so it doesn't happen again.

But find the elevator a blue glowing thing should revive them pretty sure? Try it.

The restoration tentacles on the right before the big elevator will act like a long rest, but you need to use revive scrolls on the dead party members first. There's 1 encounter you need to avoid before that with undead, which is not necessary to complete for any of the story and doesn't have any good loot either.
