This garbage has ruined all of my characters. ♥♥♥♥ bug reports. Every bug report I have filled out is still in the game. But don't worry, the kisses are getting better.

I can't even level up my characters without this happening. I took everyone out of my party, leveled my character and then 1 by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 1, I brought everyone back in to level. That worked. But no more respecs. Trying to change anyone into a Bard is giving me cancer.

Apologies for the aggression. I'm not really that mad. Just frustrated after weeks of this bug and then verifying files and re-installing game.

Don't have to be using mods to see that 'error', but it didn't seem to cause me any actual problems. Just an extra press of the A button and an eye roll.

This guy's problem is likely something else. Unrelated to that 'bug'.

"someone is editing a character" sounds as though it's a multiplayer game issue.

Are you playing co-op with friends? And is your friend editing their character right now? And can you wait for them to finish before clicking continue?

I agree it *sounds* like a multiplayer issue, but it isn't. I've run into this on both xbox and PC, and I've never played a second of multiplayer nor have I used any mods, ever. ever. EVER, for those in the back that are sure that every bug is due to mods.

But again, it was just a message that popped up that didn't actually break anything.

Doing a quick google search, some folks had some luck by leveling up all their characters at camp (all of them). Then it went away. I suppose I could try that, but it doesn't bother me enough to care.

Maybe it bothers the OP enough to try.

This bug STILL exists. No multiplayer ever played.

I have gotten this as well also I have lost items because of this error. Quest items that can't be replaced. So Annoying Maybe Larian can do something about it before people start really complaining in droves.

If you're playing on PC with a controller, go into Settings and change the input to Controller Only (or maybe vice-verse?). It'll default back to Automatic each time you start the game, unless for some reason you don't have a keyboard on or connected before it starts up.

I've only ever gotten that pop-up when I forget to change it, and it's irritating every single time as it'll occur incessantly. The first time it happened, it legit opened up the Create-A-Character in split-screen view; never again, but tbf it's the same file.

That's outrageous, the game ("of the year") is out for more than half a year, and they still didn't fix this bug!

i have the same error message: SOMEONE IS EDITING A CHARACTER - UNCONFIRMED CHANGES WILL NOT BE SAVED
usually happening after i pick a character in the team from camp and he has some level up to do. i do his level up and go back continue quest. when i save, its give me the error.
After i save and exit game. i reload the game, i wont have the error anymore, until next time i pick someone in camp that will level up...

on PC, no Mods and in single player with cloud disabled.

this is a bug introduced by what I think is the 'appearance edit enhanced' mod.

I've NEVER used mods nor multiplayer. Yet I have this bug.

(And please stop blaming mods! Even with mods, no game should tolerate THIS sort of errors.)

I've never seen this error until today. Only playing single player, no mods. Started popping up after i leveled my characters. Can confirm that the saves worked fine, and closing the game and reloading gets rid of the message.

No mods or MP for me either, saw this breifly yesterday. Think it was something to do with respeccing with Withers. It happened to me only when I was respeccing all the companions.

I also was able to just click my way through the error message and nothing happened anyway, so I don't know.
