how to cancel validation of steam files?
game randomly crashed and i cant play it again unless the steam files are validated which is kind of a bummer i dont want to wait till its done looking through 120gb of files dumbass game

Just launch via the executable without Steam then.

Unless you want cast illusion, achievements you do not need to run steam. I do not recommend running steam when you play anyway. Just run the game directly from the executable and do away with the steam wrapper and its memory leaks.

If you need to find where the .exe resides it is

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin

if the game crashed one of the first ways to help troubleshoot the issue is to ensure that the files are properly installed with all their data.

If you don't allow the game/steam to do this, then, don't come crying to the forums to complain that your game keeps crashing!
