Is Aarakocra going to be a future race?
I don't have the game. But I am willing to give it a try if the Aarakocra would be playable in the future.

P.S. My favorite dnd race is Aarakocra. That's why I'm asking

Very unlikely as BG3 is pretty much 'finished' as far as design and development goes. Larian Studios is now gearing up for their next game.

Modders may add such a thing (or may have already done so), but there will be no deep integration into the game as there is now for other character races.

In any case, it is not safe at this point to Mod the game as it is still under debugging and optimization with patches and hotfixes that routinely cause Mods to break the game.

So, best to wait if you don't want to play the best game in a long, long time due to not having that race available. :)

The game was released because they got tired of adding content to it. If anything more than cut stuff is ever added on it'll be a miracle.

I've never understood people who liked Aarakocra as a PC race... they're kinda dumb.

Only hope is a mod for it. There are about 10 other races added via mods not in the game like Satyr, Displacer beast, and Fairy. In this case there aren't existing models and meshes to steal and make a playable race, so odds are low unless you commissioned a modder to do it.
So much negativity in these forums!
That's a cool looking race (googled it lol), that'd be hella fun if added and they had Flight from the start or something.

As for if they'll ever be added, no way to know for now.

Larian's set it up so they've got studios doing continuous development on BG3 to support it into the future while Swen and the other Larian big names move on to work on their next games, so there's bound to be DLC in the future for this game too.

Just a time will tell situation really, though I don't think that race has been mentioned in the base game much (if at all), so if they do get added it probably won't be until after a few other DLCs first.

There is no "future content". The game is finished.

Well, I'm getting mixed signals in this forum, and can say the same for the BD3 website. So in the mean time, I'll just wait and see

sorry, meant BG3.

It appears they are in Fantastical Multiverse mod.

BTW, as that thing has races I had never heard of and seem to be drawn from far-flung sourcebooks from other dimensions, I would have been surprised it didn't have them.

There aren't even any that are NPCs, so it's extremely unlikely.

What a bird brained question

In BG3, no.

In the Real World, YES ( thanks crisper )

Highly unlikely at this point in time. They'd have to create entirely new assets and animation sets for it to be up to par with everything else. There's a reason why Dragonborn were the last race to be revealed.

It’s why for the next game the adventure should go off of the sword coast to the jungles of chulth

lol no
flying isn't properly implemented (just a long-range "jump" that doesn't need to follow a straight path) so that whole unique feature to their race would be pointless
and they were barely assed to properly animate dragonborn faces (PC literally always has the same expression, and there's not a single dragonborn NPC until the final act) so why would they try and do birds
