Honestly a lot of CRPGs are long like this for me
Also did not let myself get distracted by trying to do to many quests at a time. Would pick one in the region I was in and go as far as I could. When it was done in that region, I would pick another.
Explored everywhere. Also looked at some build guides to help with party composition and configuration.
All that helped immensely in keeping me focused on the game. Am almost done with my second play through now. Am still completing new quests that I missed or skipped first time through. :)
Good Luck!
It’s worth finishing in my opinion. Also, the length of the game and level of detail is a positive for many of us who love the game.
Im at 270 hours, and I dont think Ill ever finish it..
Just too many flaws for me..
I feel bad like you do tho, wish I could enjoy it more..
But man, I just wanna kill every single npc they offer.
If you wanna beat the game, there's a few clips online in how to do it in less than an hour. Recommend that.
act 1 feels great and the pacing is nice, act 2 seems a little small but cramped to me at least and then act 3 comes along and its gigantic + cramped feeling. I was already at 70 hours into my save at the start of act 3 so i just need a break for a bit, plus games always feel better if you don't burn yourself out trying to finish them.
I get to the start of ACT3, then want to restart and try another Race and Class combo.
I can run through Act 1 and 2 on muscle memory.
Someone in another post said something like "I didn't buy the game to complete it, I bought it to enjoy playing it, so why worry about rushing or getting to the end" and it really helped me not "feel bad" about feeling like I have a hard time finishing some playthroughs.
There's so many games I've played that I start and enjoy playing for a good amount of hours but I just don't want to do certain quests or even finish and "be done" sometimes. But I still love the experience!
Im not a completion-fanatic by any means but something about this game and community really expects everyone to complete the whole game in like 20 hrs or something crazy or you're not "playing it right". Ignore that bs lol
I'm guilty of this as well lmao, i blame it on my 20+ years of playing fallout+elder scrolls+DnD games.
i'd play the first 15 hours and get bored then remake a character
It's okay to take breaks and come back later. This game is MASSIVE
"The 1st ACT is good, then I completely lost interest."
I like the start of games more than the end. It's difficult to enjoy a high level character with the best gear.
Balance is a lot more possible early than late because the situation is more fixed
Mechanics are more fresh and new to the player
Plot is usually opening up with mystery, endings are harder
Very few games don't fall off a bit in the end
