Mod request - remove always prepared spells from being learned from leveling
I beg someone to make a mod which removes being forced to have "always prepared" abilities. being learned at level up, for all classes except maybe the wild shapes from druid class and any maybe others that make sense to keep.

I want to replay the game for the story with an ai mod (just to mainly focus on the different ways the story can go and the dialogues) but when they are forced to learn a skill, say shadow heart learns blessing of the trickster, she wastes all her spell slots on that on repeat leading me to change her class and try out a different cleric subclass but she always learns something I don't want 🤣

I know alot of people don't like the ai modding in this game but idc, it's just a game! 🤷🏻‍♂️😅

Please don't go giving me hate for the ai mod (I've completed the game with only cc mods and now I want to mess around! 🤣🤣

It is not that 'we don't like modding' in BG3, or in general. It is that Larian Studios does not yet support modding in BG3, nor do they take modding into account when updating the game.

The forums are just full of folks that modded BG3 and after every patch or hot fix are surprised and dismayed that the game no longer works as expected. In some cases save files are no longer compatible and entire Campaigns are lost.

So, it is the purchaser's license for BG3 to do with as they wish. Larian Studios does not prohibit modding of BG3. But they also do not currently support it as BG3 is not yet finished as far as feature debugging and optimizations.

Bottom line is that a player mods BG3 at their own risk and no one is going to be able to 'fix' their game if it is corrupted by mods.

Yep this. I have a heavily modded run and just saw somewhere there's a patch coming next week. As I'm smack in the middle of a run, that def tells me what I'm doing this weekend, before my mods all break.

Niche mod request here. I hoard scrolls with Gale that he can't learn yet, then learn them right when he's high enough level to do so.

It would be amazing at level up to have a mouseover for spell selection for a Wizard that says 'You or a party member already has a scroll for this spell -- are you sure you want to learn this spell at level up?'

This would be great. I had to make a list so I could track what I had collected up since you cannot learn a new level's spell scrolls until *after* you had selected spells and leveled up. :(

The change I would make is just allow the Wizard to 'learn' any level spell. Cannot use them anyway until they acquire that level of spell slots, so there is zero point to restricting the learning ability.

AI mods sound like a lot of fun tbh. I played the heck outta TABS which is just one big (simple) AI battle.

When I come back to the game, I can see myself trying to TABS this game, too.

There's something fun about building something, winding it up, and seeing what it does.

I think mods are great, but I am not going to mod BG3 until it is officially supported. It’s annoying reading thread after thread of ‘how bugged’ and ‘unplayable’ BG3 is by people that mod their games. Most people that don’t mod don’t have bugs.

Super easy to do that. Just edit two files under shared and sharedDev. Files Progressions.lsx which assigns feature, passives, and spell selection/ The other is SpellLists.lsx which provides the list of the spell by group that is assigned in the previous.

Now you just need to pick up some modding skills and your good to go.

Best place to make custom mod requests is at a game modding forum or Nexus.

I don't know of anything doing exactly what you want, but look around Nexus. I don't know everything that's there, there's too much to keep track of. If you don't like the spell slots being "eaten up" by those autolevel up abilities ... you can give yourself more spell slots. That's EASY to do. Several mods will do that. Some might consider that cheating, but you don't need to care what other people think.

Modding carries risks, but IMHO less than most people say. Understand how to do it safely in a game still being patched and it works just fine.

Now I just hit F5 right before Gale has an odd level-up, and I immediately learn all scrolls immediately afterwards. If I pooched my spell selection at level up, F8 it is.

No I meant AI Modding specifically! Like letting the game handle the fighting this time around 🤣 that makes sense though I hear ya

I didn't know they didn't support it but it makes sense with how new the game is though, they may be like what's the point of dlc if they weren't gonna have anyone need it etc. that and they probably want the game played as intended. I personally think they add so much enjoyment and creativity within the character creator! I've been tampering with blender recently because I wanted to give shadow heart a double braid so it's kinda of like duality, her pauldrons and her hair would match

I saw a mod that enables achievements and I didn't get it because I just thought like I'll enjoy actually earning them rather than being handed them on a silver platter. Who wants to remove that satisfaction from their game !? 👀 🤷🏻‍♂️ And also the worst that could happen is you have to uninstall and reinstall that beast of a game! 🤣 It's just that instead of doing stuff that makes sense they start buffing and then taking loads of damage not attacking 😅🤣 if anything it just balances the ai imo, like I just fancied a run that was a bit quicker this time 🤣

Oh and also I did look on the nexus the only thing there is no spell prep and translations for it, I personally like to controll what I have with me and think about it and plan if you get me haha!

If your AI wastes its actions on useless things, isn't it more a problem of your AI than a problem with the base game? Maybe your AI just needs some more I.

I am new to modding this game, im alright with the dragon age games! 🤣 I don't have any idea how to tweak it, any ideas 🤣 if I make mods for this game I'd upload them for sure, I'd want to share the fruits of my labour haha! I also could unpack the mod I have installed and see what it involves 🙂
