Lae'zel missed long rest "bonding"?
First playthtough here but I decided to go somewhat niche, playing as male githyianki, roleplaying basically Lae'zel's soulmate. Therefore, Lae'zel was the obvious romance option and I had no problem maintaining her on max approval from the get-go.
However, a few hours into Act 3, when I talked to her she told me that I didn't make any moves and she felt like I didn't care or something.
The problem might be that I try to keep long rests to a minimum. That made me think I might have missed something and a quick google search found a mention of a duelling scene in Act 2 which I never got.
Does this mean this romance is over, or is there any chance to salvage it? Should I perhaps just longrest 10 times in a row in hopes of catching up?

One requires a mod ... script extender ... can tell you (and also change the status, but at least just tell you).

The in-game way works with every lady but Minthara. Can you discuss the relationship with them? Can you ask for a kiss? (I guess the third way is do they NOT greet you with something indicating the relationship has soured. Shadowheart for example likes to greet you as an ex-lover, as if to rub it in.) If so: it's still on.

On a more general point: the thing about this game is LRs often progress pretty important events and quests, as well as the romances. You probably want to take more than you need from a utility perspective, for that reason. And again, camp supplies are almost practically infinite in this game, so there's no reason not to.

I do not think there is any chance for catching up anything at that point. Before the duel there are two ... excersise scenes.

Yeh we bumped uglies twice, but it's been a while, especially considering how direct she's been from the beginning.
I did the trial of love in the Circus with her right after that aforementioned conversation and she responded well so I still don't know what to think.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I made this mistake too and now restarting the game. My bet is you missed a lot of other events too, dreams, etc

The only option I have with LZ is to "break our fling off". I'll try the script extender later today and if I see it's gone I might reload a save from Act 2 and try a few long rests there if anything changes, otherwise I guess this githyianki's only pleasure is that of battle, tsk'va.

Thanks for all the answers!

Confirmed, by missing the duel in Act 2, the romance opportunity faded away. After Vlaakith appeared during a long rest in Act 3, LZ said she's only going to focus on her mission and even the "ending our fling" conversation option disappeared.
So I guess I'm replaying the Moonrise Towers :AOESheep:

Most romances seem to need to have a "locked-in" state by the time a player enters the Shadowfell. This doesn't always require a "love scene" before Act III, but for some, it does.

No romance arcs have to be locked in before going into the Shadow-Cursed Lands (and some cannot get to that point until certain events happen in the Shadow-Cursed Lands).

Lae'zel needs you to inspire her. She gets turned on by victories in combat. Gotta check in at camp often or you miss out on the excitement.

You *have* to do the Act 2 in-camp fight with Lae'Zel. Win or lose doesn't matter, but you have to do the fight.
