Jumping range with Rogues
The most annoying thing about my Rogue as a main character or Astarion for that matter is the lack of jumping range since athletics is based on strength. It's really annoying and also pretty antithetical to the fantasy of a super agile thief jumping across rooftops.

Is there a way to remedy this? Only thing so far is a pair of boots which gives athletics +1 but they are medium armor so I can't really use them effectively.

You do know that the jump spell is a ritual and does not cost a spell slot outside of combat. So you can cast it all day long to double the jump range of your characters without cost. No gear required... just a caster, preferably a wizard so you can equip the spell when you need it and cast the ritual 4 times in a row then switch back.

Proficiency/Expertise. A Thief subclass also gets 2 bonus actions which can be used for jumping. You could also multi-class into monk for step of the wind and unlimited jumps for that turn and extended jump range.

Try shoes[bg3.wiki] and/or amulet[bg3.wiki]. An alternative is also to use items that set STR to a high value or simply drink potions to up it. The 21 STR potions are available pretty early.

I dont think athletics affects jumping range. Its purely based on strength. This may not coincide with official rules, but we all know BG3 has its own interpretation of rules

So many ways, won't even bother to list them in detail. Potions, Scrolls, Spells, Buffs, Sub-Class choices, Gear. Just need to look at what the vendors and your spell casters have available. There are just so many options beyond just standard Strength based Jumps.

Oh, and can always buy Hill Giant Strength Elixirs form Auntie Ethel. Sets of 3. Last until Long Rest. Stock refreshes after EVERY Long Rest OR Level Up. So, if you want STR based jump boost, well there ya go. :)

No, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks! I'll also look into rituals in general - didn't know these existed, tbh.

Ah crap - missed him, but I haven't progressed that much further, so I just reloaded. That should hold me over act one without much fuzz. That's actually the kind of item I was looking for, thanks!
