Lore Bard Secrets for Level 10
I took Counterspell and Haste for my level 6 Lore Bard secrets. I could use some suggestions for my level 10 secrets. Thank you for any suggestions!

For my valour bard I got counterspell and thunderous smite at level 10 as I was expecting him to do melee damage. A lore bard is however more of a spellcaster so you might get banish or a damaging spell such as lightning bolt (doubled vs. wet characters)

Can't say without knowing your build, unfortunately. There's so many good options that it's hard to narrow it down.

The elemental summon is pretty good for upcasting to lvl 6, as Bard's lvl 6 spell options are lacking to say the least.

There are a handful of spells that are normally exclusive to Paladins and Rangers that only 10th level Bards can access in this game, though I don't recall what they are offhand.

hunger of hadar? Conj elemental? Guardian of faith? A basic fireball or other aoe?

Hunger of Hadar and Conjure Elemental are solid choices for Lore Bard. Could also consider Eldritch Blast if you didn't take it with warlock multiclass or spellslinger, "and" you have Potent Robe.

The main one that comes to mind is Banishing Smite. Adds 5D10 (i think force damage) to melee attack (10D10 if a crit) and has a chance of banishing the foe.

Paladins would get the ability, but they don't get level 5 spells until level 17 which is beyond the level cap.

Not sure if best choice for lore bard thou. All bard's get magical secrets at level 10 (only the level 6 magical secrets is exclusive to lore bard), and I find banishing smite best for a sword or valour bard that is already somewhat melee focused.

To be honest, there's so many great picks dependent upon what you're doing that it really is a struggle to narrow it down.

Off the top of my head I can think of Bless, Sleet Storm, Haste, Misty Step, Hex, Hunger of Hadar, Entangle, Spike Growth, Spiritual Weapon, Call Lightning, Warden of Vitality, Crusader's Mantle, Mass Healing Word, Guardian of Faith, Conjure Elemental, Death Ward.

The problem is identifying which spell works best for your specific bard. My first bard was a Lore Bard and used Warden of Vitality, Crusader's Mantle, Counterspell, and Haste. The second one was a Swords Bard who picked up Hex and Misty Step.

I actually took low level spells.
Command and Hold person.

They combine nicely with the Band of the Mystic Scoundrel.

I like to avoid too many concentration spells. I think Conjure Elemental would be a great choice. Since I can fly and have the boots that give me a free Misty Step I won’t really need the spell, but otherwise I might have taken that. I am leaning towards a lower level spell for my second choice simply because I never get to use the lower spell slots.

L6 for me was Counterspell and Spirit Guardians. SG is amazing in general, but a spectacular help in particular for the Shadow Curse lakefront battle.

L10 I think I grabbed a combo of the group heal you can't get as a Bard (so I now have Mass Cure Wounds *and* Mass Healing Word) and one of the level 5 wizard AOEs -- I think it was Cone of Cold.

I love Command, it's one of my favorite low-level spells in the game. After that, Misty step is great and there have been some really good suggestions like Conjure elemental and Hunger of Hadar. Bless could be good, but you either have someone else who can cast Bless, so you probably don't need it, or you have played until 10th level without Bless, so you probably don't need it.

So, my suggestion would be Command and a spell of your choice.
