Crashes brick Honor Mode?

My game crashes from time to time. I only play honor mode (even my first run thorough .. should get extra honor for that). But I noticed that when i look at Difficulty after loading and continue game it allows me to change settings .. says custom. A new game that has not crashed does not.
What does the Load game screen supposed say? Either way .. even after a normal party kill and continue the save still says "Honor Mode" .. clearly not all of them are!
Now, I know that if you "End Task" Larian has figured a way to tag your save with "dishonor". I've read your save game will still say "Honor Mode" in this case. I've also read that *maybe* you still get the achievement (confusing).
Don't get me wrong. I don't want to cheat .. I just want to be sure a crashed game does not end my HM save. Also, if the game does allow an End Task (or Alt-F4?) to allow back tracking to the Iron Man save .. Larian aught to make this harder to do .. keep honest people honest. I suggest after a party wipe and continue that last 10 saves (which were hidden) are made visible. As it is, continuing doesn't get you very much if you recently saved. Finally, if it easy to defeat HM and Larian patches it .. a new achievement and Honor Dice should be added to distinguish players who completed patched version.

My game crashed so I did some reading across the net and it seems it can tank your honour mode since it thinks you’re trying to fiddle the save game

Some said it even said honour until the end but didn’t count

Exactly what i'm afraid of .. luckily, I'm only in Act One (still 135 hours, counting restarts) .. but still. How do I ensure game crashes (which happen more than it should) doesn't wreck my save? Larian .. are you listening?

Act one can still chew some time and it’s sucks to play the same part over and over

I do a lot of pick pocketing for example to set my team up and it takes a lot of time waiting out the gaol countdown alone when it goes bad
