Mol is okay now
Changed my mind about Mol. It's not a game killing, broken quest hub, character.

The big problem with this character is the potential for the player to find the hideout before the game designers wanted them too. Specifically, before Doni shows the player where it is.

The whole countdown from 10 and make all Teiflings Hostile is absolutely terrible design, a truly terrible gameplay experience. A game killer, that inspires refunds... That should just be cut out. It would be way way way better to have the hideout be empty if the player finds it too early.

I'm hoping some of the Mol quest integers got a second look over the last 3 patches, and some crunchy bugs got killed.

However if this character turns into the precocious, "my 8 year old told me", twitter rant intro... my creative shadow will vomit all over my analytical brain.

I’m not sure what the problem is? If you find the hideout on your own, before Doni tells you or before you do the various things that let Mol know you can be trusted, then she has no reason to trust you…and in her position she’s better of seeing you as a potential threat.

she does not make the tieflings hostile

you resisting arrest makes the tieflings hostile; stop blaming her because you chose violence - that's on you

just go to jail and break out like a sensible person. it's what i did when this happened to me

curiously nobody dies when you aren't actively fighting them! who would have thought?

Same thing happened in my multiplayer game, except that Gale did not choose violence and got arrested. Escaping the prison had some hazards and we ended in a quite difficult fight with other things.

Now it really depends on my mate who plays a semi-evil lolth sworn drow. But my bard (who is mostly neutralish and not with the highest morals) won't be putting a good word for the tieflings. That joke might have quite a dire consequences.

The quest is not broken, though. Just Mol is a a piece of ****

Well, Gale and my main were close and we had a quite hard fight. And also... I've had characters start fights for less. ;)

Waaa adults, Tav discoverer my mafia hideout, can't steal money from people that are protecting us, arrest him!

Yeah. It is very stupid. Kids are up to no good, adult finds out. Of course the logical conclusion is to throw the adult in jail instead of giving the kids a lecture.

Depends…who are the adults more likely to believe? Their own kids (and remember this is a community of refugees who have to stick together) or some random blowhard who just waltzed into town? Other than having helped fight off the goblins at the gate…you’re nobody special to these people.

I just stay the hell away from that whole area of the game lol.

Its easily the most broken component of Act 1 by a mile. On release our 4 man coop got stuck in a cycle of hell where we had a negative interaction with them somehow, and then anytime we re-entered the grove the guards would aggro on a single player at random. We'd talk our way out of going to jail and then it would happen again over and over like 4-8 hours after the fact. Was totally borked.

Since then I don't even bother, especially since Act 3 Mol has no closure to speak of lol. Just turns up in her final position, no interesting dialog, no cross dialog with her old peers, very unsatisfying.
