Druid is more than wild shape, they’re a full class caster and can do wonders with lighting based spells, specially if they multi-class right.
Just build they with wild shape bonus items at the begin, later change that for full caster items.
Although, I advice against a Tav druid. Wild shape bug as hell in interactions where the Tav has to mandatory speak, if you do Druid, use your companions more to initiate dialogues.
Edit: i didn’t play a druid Tav, this comment is based in the hellish bugs i face with Halsin, on his mandatory banters in act 2.

These items have bonuses and effects that carry over to Wild Shape, and allow certain abilities to be used in Wild Shape, that wouldn't otherwise be the case. There's even some new forms, like Harpy, or Displacer Beast.
And incidentally, although this is not entirely the case, some of these things are quite consistent with how Wild Shape is supposed to work in RAW.
IMHO, if you're going for a more caster-focused druid (that's usually Jaheira), she can benefit from anything that increases WIS or is otherwise caster-focused.
As I've usually got two druids to gear, I tend to give Halsin the wildshape-focused items, and Jaheira others, although there's also a Harper Equipment mod that provides some stuff that is real nice (and lore appropriate) for her.
