Can't even start romance with Karlach in act 1

Been doing everything I can to max out her relationship delaying the party night until I have literally every quest and side quest before going to act 2 completed, go to the party she rejects me, download a mod that lets me boost relationships, boost her to max, she still rejects me. I know there's an act 2 bug but is there some kind of act 1 bug as well that's causing this? Is there some console command or something I can use fix this? I was really hoping to do her romance quest line and I really don't want to have restart AGAIN and lose the 65 hours I already put into the first chapter.

What's your character?

I think the race of your player character matters. I'm not 100% sure about this, I could be wrong. But I think it's a yes for Humans & Tieflings, A no for any of the elven races, & the others I have no idea.

There are no racial modifiers. There were in the older Baldur's Gate games, that may be what you were thinking off.

She's hard to get. Read the Romance guide.

I believe Script Extender can trigger or advance her romance. Not sure, can't use it.
