Hey, I still maintain that Bethesda making *every* dialogue NPC has multiple snarky passive aggressive comments they'll say when you don't pick a dialogue option within 90 seconds is the reason they didn't have enough budget for additional/quality writing.
Short rests in 5e aren't even supposed to work the way they do here.
Consider that by mid Act II you could have 7 (non-hireling) companions. Rotate them out strategically each day and you'd have enough spells, battlemaster moves, rage points, etc. to wage a good 10 challenging battles or so per day. That's ridiculous.
Or: Just rest and tackle it the next day. The world will not end.
