Vlaakith's dilemma
Question about Vlaakith. When I got to the manger and killed the inquisitor, this “goddess” appeared, I really angered her by saying that “I thought that the gods could kill anyone,” after which she burned my entire party. Question. Is it possible to avoid this by choosing the same answers? It’s important for me, I want to play a character who opposes the gods and doesn’t care about Vlaakith's reproaches. Or there is no such roleplaying option, and she will burn me in any case.

If you piss her off she’ll use wish to kill you

I have already learned this, the question is, is it possible to somehow avoid this?
yes: do what she asks and don't question her "divinity"

that is the only way to walk away from her alive

Speaking from memory, if you question her "godhood", she will take a big hit to the ego and Wish you to die, but other "No" options shouldn't lead to death. Tho I can't confirm that second part, I just lied to her instead

That sounds *so* childish 😆

"I wish you were dead!"
Stomps feet, throws tantrum

It is a 9th level spell. But yeah it is pretty childish

well she is a fake god

a real god wouldn't give a ♥♥♥♥ if you questioned their divinity; they'd laugh and have you fight exploding spiders or something just to make you sweat for their own amusement

It’s clear that she’s a goddess and all that, but I still wanted to play “a guy who’s too tough for her”)))
Just do it smartly. She’s an evil lich, if you piss her off she’s gonna kill you, that’s her character.

nah, she's not a goddess; her killing you with a word actually gives that away

"Wish" is a literal spell in DND that can do anything, including mercing people. Her dialogue: "You wish to see godhood? I *wish* you to end!" is her using the Wish spell, betraying the fact that she's actually just a very powerful mage and not a literal god.

But yeah, no, you can't bluff your way out of this particular interaction. All you can do is either do what she tells you to or otherwise lie to her and say you'll do it but then don't. But either way once you get to this point you have to go into the Astral Prism and can't leave until you talk to the Dream Guardian. Kill them or don't - your choice - but this is the only way forward.

It’s a pity, of course, that there’s no way to play just such a character. But thanks anyway for the answer.
np

as much respect as i have for characters who can ♥♥♥♥ talk gods unfortunately that doesn't work in the D&D world lol

the gods of the forgotten realms are cruel and petty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who will smite you just because they're bored

You can play just such a character, that's just the result of doing it. You can also play a wizard who dumped STR and CON and thinks he can solo an annoyed Owlbear armed with only a stick, doesn't mean you won't get owned if you try

I just told her to go away. And she was like: "Well, you will do what I say anyways because you have no choice." Then spawned that teleportation to the astral plane. Honestly, kinda surprised she didn't force your parties hand and transfer you herself. Though fwiu if NWN2 is to be believed, Vlaakith is basically queen lich-♥♥♥♥♥ and is a essentially a demi-god who doesn't with to "dirty her hands". I did a run without outright killing La-Zael this time and I got her to go: "♥♥♥♥ that ♥♥♥♥♥."

Warlocks get a special dialogue option to tell her something to the effect of "I know a bum deal when I see one, the answer is no I don't owe you anything." which declines her without her murdering your entire party.

Opposing gods doesn't mean being suicidal about it. In Planescape the Athar are anti-divine and don't believe any gods are worthy of worship but they also recognize they are powerful so they don't march up to them and antagonize them either.
