Your best Gloom Stalker builds.
I wanna know your best gear and levels for using the Gloom Stalker subclass for Rangers. Mostly interested in levels but would love gear ideas, too!

Here's some level progress ideas I like so far:

5 Ranger Gloom Stalker + 4 Rogue Thief/Assassin + 3 Fighter Champion

Or

5 Ranger Gloom Stalker + 5 Rogue Thief/Assassin + 2 Druid Circle of Spores

Doing a 8/4 gloom thief. Could be gloom assassin, too. But sincerely, apart of Defensive Duelist and 1x Ability Improvement, i don’t see much use for a 3 feat.

could do a 5 gloom, 3 thief, 4 monk, for:

—>Dual wielder feat making non finesse weapons use dex for hit/dmg with “MARTIAL ARTS: DEXTROUS ATTACKS”;

—>Wisdom modifier as extra AC.

—>Change daggers to 1d6 basic blunt damage (which is a bit crazy)

+ other freebies.

Problem here is, you have 2 feats and dual wield is more relevant, which make defensive duelist and ASI in the open.

As far as gear is concerned, It's either a dual-wielding swordsman with KotUK & Bloodthirst (I think that setup can get you to like a 14-20 crit range with Vicious Elixir, which means typically if you hit you crit, and that's a 58% CRIT Rate with advantage which you'll get constantly with different ways to go stealth or invis;

Or it's a Dual-Wielding crossbowman with Firestoker and HHC, same setup just trading Deadshot for the crossbows.

Basically, it's 2d6+12 for 4 hits on a melee build, with a 35-58% CRIT Rate, or 2d6+1d4+20 for 4 hits (or 16 with scattershot) with a 30-51% CRIT Rate.

(Bear in mind I'm assuming Caustic Band and Callous Glow, with a Light Support to ensure Callous Glow is always active. Reduce each number's flat bonus by 2 if Callous Glow is on a Radiant Orb build).

Now, all that said . . .

I'm a little wierd.

I'm going ROG 3 (Arcane Trickster) / RNG 5 (Gloom Stalker) / WIZ 4 (Illusionist or Evoker, not sure yet). 7 caster levels is enough for Haste and Conjure Minor Elementals (Don't sleep on Mephits, man), while also nabbing Hunter's Mark, Spike Growth, Goodberry, Hideous Laughter, Shield, Longstrider, Jump, Feather Fall, Misty Step, and a bunch of other useful spells in the kit.

Damage is still really high, and here I can use Shadowcloaked Ring and either Thorn Blade or Justiciar Gloves, while wearing the Hunter's Circlet that boots my attacks rolls by a d4 while Hunter's Mark is active on a target. It's only 3 hits, but each hit is valuable.
