Watered Down Sex Scenes

I played EA but never triggered romance BUT I am curious if the sex scenes were originally intended to be more raunchy. Its no secret that the scenes are really vanilla and a little meh, what with them usually been awkward kissing followed by fade to black. I wonder if that was always the intention or if Larian received a memo to tune it down. Thoughts?

Highly doubt was ever intended to be too raunchy. The Minty scene I think is as raunchy as they intended it to ever get. Just my take on it lol

That kind of scenes are always cringe in video-games, so it's not where dev effort should be invested. If Larian decided to do the "raunchy scenes" we'd likely had even worse and shorter Act 3 while the scenes still being bad. So no, not worth it.

The lack of a body shape selector and fade to black for most scenes were definitely intentional ideological edits from management. Minthara has the only good scene that plays out without fading to black. The rest of her content appears to be cut or never developed...after the initial hook-up, she will only just kiss you at the very end of the game and have other responses at camp if you play your cards right... I am also guessing there was a lot more content for Sharess' Caress that got axed early on and was never released.

Only karlach has had good scenes so far.

Ah, yes, the devs' mythical "ideology". Simultaneously the cause of "sexual deviancy" in the game AND the fact that there's no actual sex in the game (Minthara's scene being the closest it gets, despite also fading to black).

Said this before. The "steamiest" and "raciest" sex scenes in this game (IMHO that's Act 1 Minthara which a lot of players normally don't/can't get and then probably Act 3 Hot Date with Karlach) are honestly pretty tame. You will see steamier stuff in an R-rated movie.

No, this is not a porn game. Nor am I looking for porn in it, honestly. Now whether I actually ever made Karlach take off her camp clothes, well that is between me and her, n'c'est pas? "LOL". The scenes are pretty tame, and had to be for the game to keep its M rating; about what I would expect. I'm not after a waifu. I view romance as an interesting side story and I want my Tav to be happy. Don't you want your Tav to be happy? I do.

OK. Fine. I hate looking at naked women, and I only read Playboy for the articles. "LOL".

So the drow twins at Sharess' Caress turn the lights off. Disappointing, but totally expected. "LOL".
