The 1st amendment only deals with government. If government told Nexus not to host mod X or Y, THAT would be censorship. Nexus making its decisions what content they will host is up to them, as is the decision of any paying subscriber to subscribe or not.

It was their call on White Wyll. For sure, I happen to think they most definitely did the right thing in taking down Ghetto Wyll. THAT was obvious racism on its face.

I'm curious. I DO know of a lot of gender-swap mods. Can you name mods that change white-skinned characters to Black? I ask because I'm actually not aware of many.

but when it's a minority race being swapped out for a majority race the implications alone make it far worse than the inverse

the only race swap mod i've ever used was one that turns Daniel from the New Vegas DLC Honest Hearts Asian - and that's only because the devs admitted that he was made white by accident and they explicitly intended for him to be Asian so as to not perpetrate the "White Savior" trope

in that specific context it's not only fine but, in my opinion, far more tasteful and in keeping with an intentional design

They... a private group... taking private decisions!!! Who would imagine that? No one is stopping a racist mod to be made, just not giving it shelter in their own site.

The author(s) of the mod is free to anounce in the diverse forums of BG3 any site which domain he/she/they purchase from their own pocket, where they uploaded it.

If anyone will risk installment from a non certified mod by Nexus (that make a trial search on the files for harmful content), that's everyone else risk and option.
