Honor Mode early recommendations
I've played through it once one normal so far and thought I'd give Honor mode a try.

i followed guides on youtube, they recommended a Bardlock, Warlock / Bade, i started as a warlock.

I just found shadowheart in the beach, got to the 3 small brains, in the first round I used a cc, the other 2 brains killed me in the first round and in the 2nd round the brains killed shadowheart. Honor Mode was over after 5 minutes. yeah :D

What went wrong? Which class do you start with in Honor mode?

What went wrong: you underestimated the enemies.

Any start is fine as long as youz know what you do.

Did the guides you follow at least explained how they work and why those classes?

To me it sounds you just followed one trick ponies.

The problem with the guide was it only shows the endgame build, but not how to survive act1 without gear.

my recomendation is follow guides and savescum everytime you think you're gonna die for real.
and cheat if you can. of cause if you have plenty of free time and you don't know what to do with it.. you can play as an honest gamer.

You're supposed to rely on previous experience for that.

My best recommendation is "experience." Multiple Tactician runs are the best way to prepare for Honor mode. Those enemy's can still kill you on Tactician if you aren't ready.

You can skip the brains by climbing on the side of the cliff to the right... then come back with a 4 man party. :p

You "cannot" savescum in Honour Mode.

It is always best to act with utmost caution in Honour Mode. If you rely on your previous experience too much you will be reminded quickly that is not enough.

Share your character sheet, of your character for more on point advice. Other than that if you plan using respec, start out as Fighter with STR, CON, DEX. Then respec once you got your party together.

I mean... why even play Honour mode at that point? if you savescum like quicksaving

If you "cannot" savescum in Honour Mode then how i am doing it?:lunar2019coolpig:
Without savescumming i would already die like 5-7 times in Act 1.

I’m shooting in the dark here, but with the so far herbs you collected, which potions can you craft at this early point? May be a game changer.

That’s why Honor mode should be cloud save only and use “must be online to work” (making auto saves not accessible for the player often in case of energy issues).

Of course, Larian is no one babysitter, but would give more credibility to the module, this way.

yeah that's what I did.. and I'm now kicking myself for it because after I got the full party I continued exploring, didn't come back to fight the brains.. which meant I haven't rested right then and there, which meant I lost a dream camp event. Pretty angry about it tbh

because i can?
I don't mind having one save but i don't what to start all over again because of some goblin critting 3 out of 4 chars with a grenade or because of my chars miss 3 rounds in a raw and then die.

You probably just continued in "Custom" mode and didn't read the prompt.

It is easy. But I am not sharing the information, as it goes against the principle of Honour Mode.
